BILTON produces its LED modules on a reel-to-reel production line that is unique in Europe. This makes it possible to produce modules with a length of up to 50 metres. The standard module is equipped with IP20 protection. These LED modules are particularly suitable for indoor use.

The CVD barrier film developed by BILTON provides high protection against moisture, dust and UV up to protection class IPX6. And all this without any colour shift or increased heat development. The high flexibility and flexibility of the modules are also retained.

LED modules are encap-sulated with polyure-thane on the in-house encapsulation system. The PU potting protects against dust, splash water and many other influences. In addition, the mechanical stability is increased by the sealing.

BILTON AIR is a linear LED strip light in a highly flexible silicone jacket. The silicone sheath guarantees temperature resistance up to +200° C, is highly resistant to a variety of chemical substances and is non-flammable.

At BILTON, LED modules are also encapsulated in profiles. For this purpose, an LED module is cast and sealed in the aluminium profile using polyure-thane. The encapsulated LED luminaire guarantees extreme mechanical stability and high protection against moisture.

Depending on the application, LED modules require a different degree of protection. The higher the requirements, the more important the quality of the coating. Depending on the application, the properties of the LED module can be adapted via the different degrees of protection. Unaffected light quality as well as perfect radiation characteristics of the LED lighting are particularly important. In order to fulfil these criteria, BILTON is

constantly working on new possi-bilities to make its LED modules more resistant to external influ-ences and to perfect the mecha-nical requirements.

The abbreviation CVD stands for “chemical vapour deposition“. This is a simplified explanation of the coating process: The fully assembled LED module runs into the CVD reactor. There, the coating material is evaporated. The resulting reaction gas now flows over the material and deposits itself as a wafer-thin, solid layer on the LED strip. This

Despite the 100% moisture and dust protection of the LED modules,

High power LED chips for very bright light. The PU encapsulation enables the best pos-sible heat dissipation and optimum light transparency of the LED chips.

The PU encapsulation of the LED module has no effect on the light colour or light quality. The only relevant difference is the protection against external influences and the mechani-cal resilience.

The LED strip light used was developed and produced by BILTON. The BILTON AIR Series is available in three white light colours and RGB.

The BILTON AIR is a highly flexible silicone jacket closed on all sides. It can be flexibly for-med and separated every 5 cm. It can therefore be used and shaped for any application.

BILTON uses a silicone which is characterised by a temperature resistance of +200 °C and is therefore sterilisable. The material is non-combustible and prevents dripping. It is resistant to a wide range of chemical substances, such as salt, chlorine, cleaning chemicals, etc.

The encapsulated LED light is protected from external influences by the polyurethane and can be used under water for a short time. The PU potting has no effect on the light colour or light quality.

Polyurethane properties

BILTON uses a polyurethane with high transparency and excellent protective properties. The PU encapsulation seals the LED chips and protects them against mechanical, chemical and thermal influences as well as humidity and dust.

Made by BILTON in Austria

The LED modules are connected in aluminium with the polyurethane in the in-house casting system. Thus a high-quality LED light “Made in Austria“ is created from 3 com-ponents.

For optimum process reliability and monitoring, all casting processes are carried out in-house. In-house production enables fast availability and maximum flexibility for the various customer orders. A transparent polyurethane „Made in Germany“ is used. This high-per-formance product was specially adapted to the requirements of LED´s and scores with extremely high transparency, UV resistance

and mechanical strength.The PU type has an extremely high resistance to the formation of mould and can therefore be used for numerous environmental condi-tions in wet areas. Due to the wide variety of PU encapsulation and the innovative and development strengths of BILTON, the properties of the encapsulated LED module can be adapted to the respective application.
