    All who eat my flesh

    and I in them,

    says the Lord.

    Alleluia!

    Gospel: John 6:51-58

    R.

    2. Revere the Lord, you his saints. They lack nothing, those who revere him.

Strong lions suffer want and go hungry but those who seek the Lord lack no

    blessing. R.

  • When You Want to Say, “I Have Had Enough” In the Holy Scripture we see leaders who are exhausted, struggling, confused, desperate and ready to just quit. The journey to the land of Canaan was too hard for the people of Israel that they nearly gave up their passage to Promised Land, and they decided to go back to the slavery of Egypt (Exodus 16). But God gave them manna; they ate, and received strength from above to continue their journey. Prophet Elijah went into wilderness to escape from the wicked queen Jezebel who was making his life miserable. At some point, Elijah got so burned out and said, “ I had enough Lord, take my life”. Now this is the normal response of a man who is burned out. He was tired and confused. He was desperate and unsure about the future. But God wouldn’t give up on him. He saw baked bread and a jar of water. He ate and drank. Strengthened by that food he walked and reached Horeb the mountain of God, where he experienced the power of God (1 Kings 19).

Saint Paul encourages us to move on and never give up. Be renewed in the spirit of your minds. Put on a new self (Ephesus 4, 2). Jesus gives us His body and blood to nourish us and strengthen us. There is always a bigger picture. There is always a longer timeline. There is always information you don’t know. God always has a plan.

Around the Parish I sincerely thank everyone who collaborated and participated in our Feast Day last Wednesday. Our parish is so blessed for the radiant spirit of fellowship and cooperation. We are grateful for the beautiful altar set-up, donation of flowers, well-participated continuous rosary, delicious cake by the Nguyen Family (Pinjarra French Hot Bread Shop), choir group for the splendid hymns and singing, Graeme Mander and the Parish Pastoral Council members, Social Committee members, the wonderful teachers of Assumption Catholic Primary school for the tables set-up, cleaning-up and of course for their delicious and hearty soups and bread, Fr Wally for joining the Mass celebration, our kind parishioners who stayed and helped with the cleaning-up and everyone who were present and joined our parish celebration. God bless you all!

    Fr. Theophane OCD
