REGIONAL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP The race director of the Longleaf Triathlon is extremely excited about hosting this year’s Club Championship for our region. They want to bring as many clubs to the race as possible so as an incentive they are offering a $10 discount to ANY participant who registers as a member of one of our Florida clubs. This discount is good for both the Sprint as well as the Olympic Distance race (even though only the Olympic distance partici-pants will be scored for points). To get the discount please use the Invitation Code “FLCLUB” on the first page of registration on IMAth-lete. Each participant MUST select a club from the pulldown menu in order to be registered under your club. Each club will submit a roster by September 15
th which will be cross referenced against the IMAthlete

Team Psych will provide marker buoys for sighting practice on a chest deep, 400 meter
shoreline parallel measured course. A brief clinic on open water swimming will be pro-
vided for any novice swimmers. 1/4 mile loop.. These open water swims are designed
to accommodate two groups.
Group one is non-swimmer, the I am afraid to stick my head in the water, don't like water
I cant see the bottom, etc. Become an athlete who would like to be more comfortable in
the water. The goal is to get you ready for your first triathlon.
Group two is the accomplished swimmer refining the open water swim techniques.

Here is the tri I did on the 8th. Tried to get Nicole to come up and
race but I guess it was a drive to Far.

Over all time: 01:16:03 (It was the Charleston Sprint Tri #3 (Swim
600yrds; Bike 12 miles; Run 5k) In my age group I was 9th out of 21
and over all I was 89th out of 180 Males) If you want some photos...

I had a bad run... I got cramps in both my calf's coming off the bike,
and took me about a mile of slow running to work them out. The one
good thing was I bet Kasey Kahne out of T2. We rode from about the
half way point very close together.. (of course no drafting we passed
each other a couple of times) and we came in together.
Hope the team is doing well and will keep sending you my race results.

1st in M55 @ Muncie 70.3 (Indiana) shortened to 37.2 due to
severe heat wave (88 degree water at 0630 start, 114 heat index by
noon).
I sent you an e-mail, probably to the wrong address, regarding a
club promotion by Sommer Sports for the Great Floridian Triathlon. It includes 1 free club entry which I'll take if no one else wants
it. There was a write-up about this deal on TriJuice last week. I contacted Sommmer Sports about it and they said they would be sending
out details to all Florida clubs this month, so keep your eye out.
