Team Psych - GIve Back!

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Cycle for Life

October 22, 2011 at Longleaf Town Center

How can you give back?

Join the Team - Go to the team psych web page and click on

the link under the “give Back” section. This will take you di-

rectly to our page for Cycle for life. You can join the team and

ride 25, 56 or 85 miles for a great cause.

or, just email Sharon at [email protected], include

the distance you would like to ride.

We just ask that you bring your cell phone with you for the ride

and help out any cyclists in need.

Raise the Flag - Our goal is to raise $1000 for this event. Even if you

cant ride with the team you can donate any amount you would

like. We have made this very easy. In the give back section there are links to donate $5,

$10 or $20 dollars through google checkout.

SO, let’s make El Fuego proud!! Donate your time (and clock in some nice milage), donate

your money or both. THis is a really great cause that benefits children and families in our

area who are living with Cystic FIbrosis.

Family Information:

Youngest of four kids. Born and raised on Long Island in NY.

Moved down here 8 years ago when I transferred to USF. GO

BULLS! Currently single without kids and looking.

If I wasn’t an insurance adjuster (real occupation),

I would be a pirate (dream job)...Race for the booty video's are my inspriation.

Passions outside Triathlon:

Travelling. I try to travel to a different country every year.

My opinion, worst place to do a tri in? Peru. So many hills. And I hate those things.

Best place I've been? Thailand. Hands down.

Key Race or goal for the season:

Season's coming to an end. Ill end with Longleaf (Doing a relay, Team Nips and Tips!), Suncoast, and then 5150 Clearwater. I'm starting next

season with Ironman New Orleans 70.3. Who's coming along? Party on Bourbon street after the race? You know you cant resist!

Athletic history before triathlon:

I started running about 4 years ago...before that I lifted weights, never really did cardio. I ran a couple marathons and numerous halfs. Triathlon

was the next challenge so here I am.

Triathlete for how many seasons:

this is the end of #2

Currently my bike is a:

Cervelo P2

My dream bike is a

Trek Speed concept 9.9

Biggest obstacle I overcame in becoming a triathlete:

Learning how to swim. I still cant swim all that well but Ive improved a lot since I started triathlon. Practice makes perfect, right?

What is your greatest triathlon moment or story?

Finishing my first 70.3 in Orlando this past May

What inspires me is

My favorite part about triathlon is…

Getting out of the water. Once Im on land, I know my chances of survival are pretty good.

Guilty Pleasures:

Beer

Food: peanut butter.

Television: Eastbound and down.

Philosophies/Quotes/Mottos:

"The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do." - unk

"Man imposes his own limitations, don't set any" - unk

And one of my faviorites:

You watch those nature documentaries on the cable? You see the one about lions? You got this lion. He's the king of the jungle, huge mane - out

to here. He's laying under a tree, in the middle of Africa. He's so big... it's so hot. He doesn't want to move. Now the little lions come, they start

messing with him. Biting his tail, biting his ears. He doesn't do anything. The lioness, she starts messing with him. Coming over, making trou-

ble. Still nothing. Now the other animals, they notice this. They start to move in. The jackals; hyenas. They're barking at him, laughing at him.

They nip his toes, and eat the food that's in his domain. They do this, then they get closer and closer, bolder and bolder. Till one day, that lion

gets up and tears the s%#t out of everybody. Runs like the wind, eats everything in his path... Cause every once in a while, the lion has to show

the jackals, who he is. - From the movie Poolhall Junkies...by Christopher Walken

What drew you to Team Psych?

A group of people who go big on race day, know how to train hard and party even harder. And a bad ass logo everyone is jealous of.

Sand Key Triathlon, 1/2 mi swim, 13 mi bike and 5K run. 1:06:43 1st M50-54, 3rd fastest bike split in the entire field...was on fire to-day! I think I was 10th overall but AltaVista posted the overall clock time on their website for some age groups without adjusting for the delay in the wave start. E.g., they have me at 1:14:43 even though it's obvious my splits add to the 1:06:43 (which was my watch time also). I'm hoping they'll correct the re-sults online soon. First time I've done this race. Nice swim, smooth fast bike course with few turns, but tough run leg all on the beach although most of it was packed down by the tide. Best post race food spread I've ever seen. Best. Paul

Keith Bower 1:17:00 This was an awesome race! The beach is amazing! With a 1/2 mile swim at one Florida's best beaches, a great 13 mile bike ride through the beach front streets, and then polish it off with a 5k beach run you can't go wrong! Oh and the food spread is absolutly ridiculous!!!! It's worth it just for the food! It is definetly on my list for next year!

Karl Eichen Siesta Key tri- 1/2mile swim, 13 mile bike, 5 k run- 1:39:46

Joey Crawford I raced siesta key this weekend, really well organized, awesome post-race food. I finished with a 1:08:21, which got me my first AG first. I was super stoked.

We did 60mi on suncoast Saturday. Saw Mark. Road 25mi on Sunday then loaded bikes and ran 11mi at Flatwoods. Weather was good.
