Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Cycle for Life

October 22, 2011 at Longleaf Town Center

How can you give back?

Join the Team - Go to the team psych web page and click on the link

under the “give Back” section. This will take you directly to our

page for Cycle for life. You can join the team and ride 25, 56 or 85

miles for a great cause.

Raise the Flag - Our goal is to raise $1000 for this event. Even if

you cant ride with the team you can donate any amount you would

like

through the same link mentioned above.

That’s not enough!!!! Well, if you need to see your name (or business

name) on a mile marker and really support Cystic Fibrosis Founda-

tion,

a $500 donation will get you that. Contact Sharon at

[email protected] to get set up.

SO, let’s make El Fuego proud!! Donate your time (and clock in

some

nice milage), donate your money or both. THis

is a really great cause

that benefits children and families in our area

who are living with

Cystic FIbrosis.

Team Psych and all other triathletes. This is a five star triathlon in its first

year. This year they promjise to top last years event. I wouldn't miss it it I

were you. Where else do they serve you gourmet dinner the night before

and post race?

Page 8: Team Psych Weekly Newsletter - Aug 29, 2011

Dear "look me in the

e y e l u c y " ,

Maybe the logo was

printed there so guys would have an excuse

t o s t a r e a t

your groin....hmmm.. very suspi-

cious. Regardless, these are supposed to be

evolved pirates we are dealing with not

cavemen so I would throw the next

scallywag that averts his glance in the

wrong direction off the boat! Maybe

if you put a couple skull & bone tattoos on

your face you could throw off

their game and really confuse them. Of

course the option to wear all black

shorts always exists if you just can't redi-

rect these rogues but better yet

just swim, bike and run so fast they won't

be able to see anything because

they will be standing in the dust you left

behind!

La Fuega

Dear El Fuego, I love being a new member of the team and got fully decked out in the new

team tri top and tri shorts. I love em. they are so intimidating. However I no-

tice that other athletes are looking at the image of el fuego printed on the groin

on the shorts. I am used to folks, especially guys looking at my chest rather

than straight in my face but staring at my crotch is different. Even the other day

in spin class the female instructor commented on the shorts and said she cant

stop looking at skull in the same area. Help me with this, I don't know whether

to take the stand up straight and be big about this or should I try a different pair

of tri shorts and go back to the uncomfortable but familiar stare at my chest?

Need Your Thoughts "Look me in the eyes Lucy"

Ahoy Lucy,

Skulls and bones are not for the squeamish. Wearing this symbol has factors associated that the makers of the gear cannot forsee nor be re-

sponsible. Things I hear are not much different from men who wear the infamous tri shorts. For now on you tell them things like “ I have a bone to pick with You!”, How about those bones?, or Are you admiring my bone struc-ture? Wear your skull and crossbone wear with attitude and pride. El Fuego

Here are our race times from Nationals: Andrew 2:26:16 Karina 2:48:24 The t-shirt rating is worse than Andrew's pathetic bike time :-)

Brooke King placed 6th in age group.qualified for world championship. The swim was clear and beautiful. The bike was alittle more hilly than mentioned on the course map, but was fun and challenging. The beginning of the run was up a hill, which was pretty brutal, but after that it was beautiful running through the woods on a semi paved trail. Overall it was a well put together race :)
