Interview with Kroc MembersJim and John ProutyJim Prouty is a Kroc Center member who is a regular in Zumba and he enjoys Sunrise Splash to start his day. John Prouty, Jim’s brother and fellow Kroc member, also enjoys Sunrise Splash and Aqua Zumba because they help his legs and the instructors keep the routines fresh. We asked for their thoughts on the project:

Kroc When you heard about the Enhancement Project what was your first thought?

Jim/John Where’s the money going to come from?

Kroc You’re not alone! It’s one of the top questions we get. The money is coming specifically from remaining funds from the Ray and Joan Kroc estate, earmarked for capital projects.

Kroc What changes are you looking forward to?

Jim I’m looking forward to the new water slide, the walking track, and the larger rooms. Taking the Grandkids is only going to get better!

Kroc Is there any aspect of the project that worries you?

Jim/John We know the Pool will have schedule adjustments and we’ll have the normal construction detours.

Kroc Is there anything else you would like to share?

Jim I’m happy and in shape, a 70 year old dancing Grandpa, thanks to my Kroc Membership. The Kroc Center is a first class place and I can’t wait to see the new construction that will make this great place, greater.

The Salvation Army KETV 7 Can Help Kids Back to School Backpack DistributionAt the Kroc Center FREE with qualifying records Fri.-Sat. August 12-13 • 9am-Noon • 1-4pm

The 19th annual Back-To-School Backpack program provides thousands of children in need with a backpack filled with school supplies. Backpacks will be distributed at three locations around the metro including the Kroc Center and are available while supplies last. For full details call The Salvation Army at 402-898-5966.

If you can make a donation of new school supplies (backpacks, pencils, glue, folders, notebooks, crayons), please do so in July.

for Members Non-members: included in day pass Test your skills and speed...in a kayak! You don’t know how to kayak? No problem, we’ll provide some instruction, then it’s off to the races! This is a great way to introduce kids to recreational kayaking while enjoying some fun ‘n friendly competition!!! For youth ages 8 to 12; must first pass a swim test to participate.

During the school year, 21 Million children received free or reduced priced meals. But during summer 2015, Summer Feeding programs only reached a fraction of eligible children (1 in 6) with summer meals. Help us spread the word this summer…Breakfast and Lunch are on us!
