Week 9 Term 3, 10th September 2014 Dear Parents, Sue Mackay Principal
Quote for the Week:
Week 11 Term 1, 6th April 2016 Dear Parents,
The Annual School Report is developed as an annual record of a school’s self-evaluation process. It is part of the ongoing cycle of school planning and development. The information provided in the report is done so within the context of each individual school. The Annual School Report (ASR) for the 2015 school year is available on the school website for parents to read. If there are any questions please make contact and I will do my very best to answer your queries.
The link for the website is - http://www.kororo-p.schools.nsw.edu.au/
Please remember that in the top right hand corner of the website page there is a link to an online mobile version of the website for any access at any time. If you are interested in helping the school and our community to reduce the amount of paper we utilise, you can have your newsletter delivered electronically by sending your email address in to Mrs Wright in the front office.
ANZAC DAY
This year Anzac Day falls on the last day of the upcoming holidays. We would love to see as many Kororo students as possible at the Anzac Day March. Students will gather outside the Genesis Gym in Park Ave at 8.45am and march around to the Cenotaph. Students should wear full school uniform including their school hats. It has been very hot in the past so students should carry a water bottle.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT DAY Just a reminder to our parents and families, the first Tuesday of Term 2 is a Staff Development Day. This means that it is pupil free – no school for the kids! School resumes for students on Wednesday 27th April. Please contact OOSH if you require their services for 26th April. Enjoy a fabulous two week break, Sue Mackay Principal

Opportunity Classes
Notes regarding Opportunity class placements have been
distributed to Year 4 students this week. These schools may help gifted and talented students to learn by grouping them
with other gifted and talented students, teaching them in
specialised ways and providing educational materials at the appropriate level.
Applications for opportunity class placement are considered
mainly on the basis of the Opportunity Class Placement Test results and school assessment scores. The Opportunity
Class Placement Test will be held on Wednesday, 27th July
2016.
If you would like to have your child considered for Year 5 opportunity class entry in 2017, you need to apply soon.
You will need to apply on the internet using a valid email
address (not the student’s email address).
Detailed instructions on how to apply online will be available from 26th April 2016 in a printed application information
booklet and at www.schools.nsw.edu.au/ocplacement. The application website opens on 26th April 2016 and closes on
13th May 2016. No late applications will be accepted.
There are no paper application forms. If you do not have
internet access, you could apply at a public library. If you have a disability that prevents you from using a computer,
you can contact the Unit for assistance after 26th April
2016.
You must submit only ONE application for each student.
