Edith Sitwell Principal’s Report School Hats A reminder to all students this week to keep bringing and wearing your school hat each day, even during these Winter months. It is also important for students to remember that they must not share hats and that each child brings their own school hat. School hats are available for purchase from the oce for $10.00 each. Chess Club This week, members of our Chess Club were delighted to receive six new chess sets. Chess is proving to be very popular amongst students with the more experienced players only too keen to pass on their skills to the eager new learners. Thank You #1 Kandos Public School P&C The Kandos Public School P&C have assisted our school with a donaƟon of $590 to go towards the licensing fees of our Skoolbag app. Skoolbag is very popular amongst our school community and this P&C donaƟon helps us to conƟnue to oer this service to our families. #2 Morning Tea Our appreciaƟon goes to the anonymous parent, who today, provided stawith beauƟful balloons, a thank you card and some very yummy treats for morning tea. It is always heartwarming to receive posiƟve thoughts and feedback from parents. Thank you for the kind words wriƩen inside the card and for being so thoughƞul. Principal’s Report School Hats A reminder to all students this week to keep bringing and wearing your school hat each day, even during these Winter months. Mrs Rankin and her students may have a found a few mascots for their Emerald class this week, a er a successful visit from Mrs Rohr’s chickens. The students of Emeralds were delighted to make friends with one mother hen and her four chicks. The students thanked Mrs Rohr, who has promised to bring her chickens back to their class soon. Boyd Dale ‐ Banner is seen here holding a Silkie chicken. Descrip on 

The Silkie is a breed of chicken named for its fluffy feathers, which

felt like silky sa n. Silkies are unique with unusual quali es, such as

black bones and skin, blue earlobes, and five toes on each foot,

whereas most chickens only have four.

Parents of children from Kindergarten to Year 12 must ensure their children a end

school every day. On occasions, your child may need to be absent from school.

Jus fied reasons for absences may include:

Being sick or having an infec ous disease

Having an unavoidable medical appointment

Being required to a end a recognised religious holiday

Excep onal or urgent family circumstances ‐ eg a ending a funeral

Parents MUST provide an explana on for absence within 7 days from the first day of

any period of absence. Where an explana on has not been received with the 7 day

meframe, the school will record the absence as UNJUSTIFED on the student’s
