It is designed to clarify and strengthen the important relaonship between parents/carers and school by gaining insights into parent/carer and staff communicaon, acvies and pracces at home, and parent/carer opinion on school support for learning and behaviour. The survey results help to build an accurate and mely picture that the school can use for praccal improvements. It complements the student and teacher surveys which are being undertaken over the course of this term. PARENT WORKSHOP - ANXIETY IN CHILDREN Dr Nicola Holmes, currently working as a GP at Headspace Coffs Harbour, will be presenng an informaon and queson and answer session on anxiety in children on Tuesday, 30th August at 7pm in the Library. Her session comes with rave reviews and focuses on praccal and realisc approaches to support young people struggling with life. We encourage parents to put the date in their diaries. Please RSVP to the Office as soon as you are able. BUS SURVEY Students who travel on the bus which comes from Diggers of a morning have been given a survey to complete. Please take a few minutes and jot down your thoughts and ideas. The bus company are very willing to work with the school to ensure the provision of a safe and efficient bus service but they can only take facts that are provided to them. Please return your survey to the office by the end of next week. There are spare copies in the office if you didn’t receive one. Many thanks, Sue Mackay Principal

Deputy’s Report

Congratulations to Cloe Nolan who has travelled to Canberra to compete in the Australian Cross Country championships. She can now proudly say she is the 20th fastest 12 year old over 3kms in Australia. The event was held at Stromlo Forest Park cross country track, where Cloe said it was freezing cold and a beautiful place to have the event except when she had to run up the big hill. The NSW team came 2nd overall.

NAPLAN RESULTS

The Naplan results have arrived at school and can be picked

up by PARENTS from the front office. Those that haven't

been picked up will be sent home next Friday, 2nd

September.

OLYMPICS

The Olympic spirit was in over drive at Kororo School on

Monday, with students participating in an opening and

closing ceremony along with many Olympic themed sporting

events. One of the highlights would have to be the Olympic

torch relay and lighting of the flame but the true highlight

was the look of pure enjoyment seen on all students who

participated. We have included several photos that captured

the days highlights.

The Bendigo Bank Coffs Harbour Running Festival is on Father’s Day, Sunday 4th September 2016. The Doctor on Duty Schools

Challenge has $3000 worth of cash prizes to be spent on sporting equipment to the winning schools. The event is in its sixth year and caters for people of all ages and abilities with a half marathon, 10km run, 5km fun run/walk and the 3km family fun run/walk – all held on the picturesque Coffs Creek Walkway.
