Week 9 Term 3, 10th September 2014 Dear Parents, Sue Mackay Principal Week 3 Term 2, 11th May 2016 Dear Parents, It is with mixed emotions that I write my final newsletter, as I am retiring next Monday. Part of me is very excited as I will now have the opportunity to do all those things I kept telling myself I’d do when I had time. However another part is very reluctant to let go. I have been a teacher since I was nineteen and it has been a big part of my life. I feel very grateful to have had the opportunity to have the career I always wanted. Although there have been many changes over forty eight years the one constant has always been the children. They are what matters. Every child has the right to the best possible education we can provide. I could not have asked for a better school in which to finish my career. Children, parents and staff have made me feel very welcome and taught me so much about the ‘Kororo Spirit’. I feel truly blessed to have been a part of this unique community. To all the students at Kororo I would like to leave you with this message. Aim high and strive to be the best you can. Always remember you are capable of more than you know. Week 9 Term 3, 10th September 2014 Dear Parents, Sue Mackay Principal

Quote for the Week:

Week 3 Term 2, 11th May 2016 Dear Parents,

It is with mixed emotions that I write my final newsletter, as I am

retiring next Monday. Part of me is very excited as I will now have

the opportunity to do all those things I kept telling myself I’d do

when I had time. However another part is very reluctant to let go.

I have been a teacher since I was nineteen and it has been a big

part of my life.

I feel very grateful to have had the opportunity to have the career

I always wanted. Although there have been many changes over

forty eight years the one constant has always been the children.

They are what matters. Every child has the right to the best possible

education we can provide.

I could not have asked for a better school in which to finish my career. Children, parents and staff

have made me feel very welcome and taught me so much about the ‘Kororo Spirit’. I feel truly

blessed to have been a part of this unique community.

To all the students at Kororo I would like to leave you with this message. Aim high and strive to be

the best you can. Always remember you are capable of more than you know.

DEPUTY’S REPORT

Cross Country

Last weeks cross country fun run was an enormous success.

Not only did participating students raise an extraordinary

amount of money (approximately $8800 and still counting),

but many also qualified to compete at the next level. All

students now wait with anticipation to discover which

students and class have raised the most amount of money,

which will be revealed Thursday.

Congratulations Aspyn

Congratulations to Aspyn K on her recent

selection into the Coffs Harbour District

PSSA netball team. She will now travel to

Woolgoolga where she will hopefully be

successful in her pursuit of selection into

the Mid North Coast netball team.

Goodluck!!

Congratulations Jacob

Jacob P competed in a Chess Tournament

held by the Sydney Academy of Chess at

Orara High School on 5th

May. He played

exceptionally well against Students in

Years 7 and 8 and primary schools from

as far as Dorrigo and Nambucca Heads.

Jacob’s overall score was 3.5 out of

7 games, and there was some tough competition. He

represented Kororo Public School as a bright, intelligent

student with a love of the chess and willingness to learn.

Congratulations Jacob!!

Term 2 Calendar

There have been a couple of changes to stage 2 assembly

times. 3JB assembly is on Friday 20th May and 3MW is on

Friday 1st July.

applying online is May 13th.

actually 27th July.

The correct procedure to pay for school activities!

Paying for multiple students in one family is like paying your rates, electricity and phone.

Each child is treated as a separate entity. Please find below a few points to remember when paying for a school activity:

One envelope per student only.

Individual payments per envelope.

Money and envelope to be handed to the classroom teacher so your child will be marked off in the class money folder. When this doesn’t happen you run the risk of your child’s teacher not knowing they have paid until the class money folder is updated. This can take up to 2 days and may lead to them missing out on the activity that they have paid for.

The only money to be handed straight to the office is large amounts for the major excursions, Yarrahapinni, Port Macquarie, Sydney/Canberra.

As all monies are taken off the premises every afternoon by security pickup, the office is unable to change money or give change in the mornings or afternoons.

On line payments One child per transaction.

You can however pay for several activities per child in the one transaction.

We greatly appreciate your help with this. This past week alone we have had 9 different activities being paid for.

Fond Farewell

It is with great fondness and

sadness that we farewell Mrs

June O’dell who is retiring. A

small informal assembly will

be held next Monday 16th

May at 2.50pm. She has had

a long and distinguished career. 48 years I do

believe, an achievement that could not go without

recognition. This will be her last

day so if you haven’t had a

chance to wish her a fond

farewell this could be the perfect

opportunity.
