Cash, jewels stolenfrom 2 bikes

Cash and jewels were stolenfrom two 2-wheeler riders in K.K. Nagar and Kumaran Nagaron Sept. 15.

In the first incident in Kuma-ran Nagar, Srinivasan (29), astamp vendor residing inMogappair East, was on wayto Saidapet court with Rs. 2.78lakhs in cash to purchase sta-mp paper on Sept. 15. When hewas passing through KumaranNagar, he felt a powdery sub-stance falling on his neck. Theskin started itching. Srinivasanstopped near a shop and got offhis 2-wheeler to purchase awater sachet to clean his neck.When he returned, he foundthe money he had kept in thepouch of his bike missing.

In the other incident in K. K.Nagar, Shanmugasundaram(66) and his wife Kalaiselvi weretravelling on a motorcycle withjewels of 30 sovereigns kept inthe box. They decided to visittheir grand-daughter studyingin a school on 18th Avenue.Shan-mugasundaram went in-side to meet the child. In a fewminutes, an unidentified per-son came and told Kalaiselvithat her husband wanted herto come inside the school. Theunsuspecting woman went in-side. When she returned withher husband they found thebox broken open and thejewellery missing.
