PASTOR’S POTPOURRI — I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU ORPHANS
Today we welcome Archbishop Samuel Aquila for the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation at the 11:00 A.M. Mass. It is always a joy to celebrate Confirma-tion. Those who will be confirmed will know what the Lord meant when He said that He would not leave us orphaned. The gift of the Spirit to the Apostles on Pente-cost was the beginning of the Church. Each celebration of Confirmation recalls that day and today those confirmed receive the same Spirit as those who celebrated Pentecost so many years ago. It is the Spirit who sanctifies us, who teaches us, who encourages us, who calls us to service, who brings the forgiveness of sins, and so much more. We pray that through the laying on of hands and the anointing with Holy Chrism our candidates for Confirmation will feel the presence of the Spirit moving them and dwelling within them. May they be witnesses of Christ to others and bring them to Christ.

Morning Prayer: Friday, May 26th during the 8 a.m. Mass. Come visit with one another and the parish staff afterward in the Raccoon Café! If you are able to bring a breakfast item for the café, please sign up this week in the back of the church. Offices will be closed until 10:00 a.m. to allow the entire staff to participate in the café.

Also known as America’s Catholic Church, the National Shrine has been a century in the making, built by and for the faithful of our great nation in honor of our Blessed Mother, the patroness of the US.

Catholic Daughters of the Americas for over 100 years, has served parishes and communities through the religious, educational and charitable Apostolate of the Church. Holy Spirit Ministries meets the 2nd Sunday of the month in the church for praise, worship, healing prayer and confessions. Confessions start at 4:30 pm, Mass begins at 5:00 pm and the healing prayer is available from 6:30-7:30 pm.

Christian Service Committee Meets on the first Monday of every month from September through May. It is responsible for our Food Basket Programs at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, as well as the Adopt-A-Family gift program at Christmas. The committee also sponsors a luncheon for the elderly in the Fall, a clothing drive in the Spring for The Action Center, and coordinates our 911 Assistance Program. Respect Life Committee rosary to end abortion is prayed on the second Saturday of each month at 7:30 am at the Our Lady of Hope Statue in the Community Center.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Rosary Makers We meet every 2nd Monday of the month 9:00 -10:00 am in the Community Center Lower Level. All new comers are welcome and we will even teach you how to make rosaries (many different options). Rosaries are sent to the military, missions in U.S. and foreign countries, nursing homes, hospitals. If interested stop by and join our group. (We are off for the summer. Prime Timers next meeting is Friday, May 19 at noon in the CCLL. Make your own sandwiches (fixings provided). Bring side dish or dessert. St. Francis Circle meets once a month Sept-May on a Saturday from 9am–3pm in the CCLL. Watch the bulletin each month for specific dates. New members are always welcome and there are many jobs to accomplish where sewing experience is not necessary. Our membership includes people of all ages who enjoy sewing & finishing quilts, knitting & crocheting hats & blankets. We enjoy a Potluck lunch followed by prayer and a short business meeting. The Stephen Ministry program provides confidential one-on-one Catholic Christian care to individuals in the congregation who are experiencing difficulties in their lives such as grief, death of a loved one, illness, divorce, financial difficulties and more. Save The Date: There will be an information night on Monday, August 7th 7-9 p.m. in the church basement for members of the congregation who are interested in becoming Stephen Ministers. Deacon Alan will give an overview of the program and will be joined by current Stephen Ministers to answer questions. New candidates will receive 50hrs of training, and classes begin Tuesday, September 5th from 6:30-9:00 p.m. Classes will be held every Tuesday and Thursday evening through November 11th.
Is God calling you to reach out with His love to people a who are hurting? Becoming a Stephen Minister may be just what you are seeking. IMPORTANT!! We must have eight candidates in order to have the class.

Sacraments Baptisms of children are regularly scheduled each month. A pre-baptismal session is required. Please call the office at 303-988-6435 before or after the child's birth, before you choose godparents.
Adult Baptism is part of the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). For information, please call Deacon Mike at 303-988-6435 x16.
Marriage: Those who wish to be married at St. Jude Church must be registered in the parish for at least one year. Sons and daughters of registered parishioners may also be married here. A 12-month preparation period is required. Please call the office at 303-988-6435.
Anointing of the Sick: In the case of serious illness in the family, please call the office immediately at 303-988-6435. Do not wait until death is imminent. During hours when the office is closed, you will be directed to the emergency line.

Bulletin Announcements: Bulletin announcements are due the Monday 7-days prior to Sunday publication. Bulletin announcements are to be short due to limited space.
