THIS WEEK’S GOSPEL Jesus said to his disciples: “As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my com-mandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy might be complete. This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his mas-ter is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father. It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. This I com-mand you: love one another.” John 15:9-17

We must remain in Christ’s love and be known for and by that love!!!

THE PASTOR’S PONDERANCES Today the Lord beckons us to bear fruit that will last. The only way that the fruit will last is if it is good fruit borne from good and wholesome expressions of Christian love! Fr. Daniel

GWEN MONROE ESTELLE CLEMENT AND

JOYCE BUMFORD BY CHERYL CLEMENT

SR. LUCIE SAYS The second reading taken from St. Paul’s

letter to the Ephesians states:”. . .grace was

given to each of us according to the measure

of Christ’s gift.” It is perhaps a good time to

take inventory of the graces we have received

in our life times. It is also a good time to fo-

cus on the last part of the quote , especially “to

the measure of Christ’s gift.” The truth is that

Christ gave ALL so that we could receive from

His bounty. This would be a good time to re-

ally ponder on the gifts we have been given

and how we can use these gifts to serve one

another and to give glory to God, in particu-

lar to thank Him for the gift of our mothers,

whom we also celebrate and honor on this

Mother’s Day.

PRAYERS FOR OUR COUNTRY Please join in saying a silent prayer for our country at 12 o’clock noon each and every day. Evil is all around us but so are blessings, and we know God hears our prayers. A meaningful prayer like “have mercy on us” or “God pro-tect our country” said sincerely is all that is needed or your own words that come from the heart. Thank you “nothing is impossible with God.” Your name is not necessary, but if you wish to give it, our names will be sent to the Divine Mercy Prayer Line for our protection.
