HYMN OF THE DAY “Come Down, O Love Divine” (see end of bulletin)

APOSTLE’S CREED Dear friends, in this Easter season we continue to give thanks for the gift of baptism as we confess our faith using the catechetical version of the Creed.

Do you believe in God the Father? I believe in God, the Father almighty,

creator of heaven and earth.

Do you believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God? I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

Do you believe in God the Holy Spirit? I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Let us pray. We give you thanks, O God, that through water and the Holy Spirit you give us new birth, cleanse us from sin, and raise us to eternal life. Stir up in us the gift of your Holy Spirit: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord, the spirit of joy in your presence, both now and forever.

Amen.

PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION Each petition concludes:

Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer.

LORD’S PRAYER Gathered into one by the Holy Spirit, let us pray as Jesus taught us:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins

as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial

and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power,

and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen.

Du omgir meg Refrain is sung in Norwegian: Du omgir meg på alle sider You surround me on all sides og du held meg fast i di hand. and hold me steadfast in your hand.

Verses: When my path leads off to unknown places, through deep waters, inclines hard to climb; you are there with me, there to protect me; through the storm you’re there to be my guide.

When my faith is weak and courage falters, and I feel that I cannot go on, I feel your presence, your hand upon me, you have promised to be there at my side.
