Молитва Церковної Спільноти Приготування до Євхаристійної трапези

Херувимська пісня приготовляє нас до Євхаристійної трапези. Перед тим, як "вгору піднести серця", співати Трисвяту пісню "Свят, свят, свят Господь Саваот" та "прийняти Царя всіх" у Святому Причасті, нам треба "відкласти всю житейську печаль." Під час Херувимської пісні священик молиться, аби Христос сподобив його "стати перед Святою Трапезою і священнодіяти святе і пречисте Тіло і чесну Кров." Тоді, переносячи на престол приготовані на проскомидійнику чесні дари, здійснює Великий вхід, який символізує урочистий в’їзд Христа в Єрусалим для звершення спасительної жертви і наше прийняття Його як Царя всіх – всього видимого і невидимого, живих і мертвих, щоб приєднатись до Його Пасхального таїнства. Тому священик поминає церковну єрархію і всіх вірних, молячись, щоб Господь Бог пом’янув усіх – учинив їх причасниками свого Царства. У Просительній єктенії священик, молячись за принесені чесні дари, просить, щоб "вселився Дух благодаті у нас, і на цих дарах, що перед нами, і на всіх людях." Перед Символом віри диякон закликає: "Возлюбім один одного", наголошуючи, що спільне визнання віри можливе тільки в любові, яку приймаємо від Господа і виявляємо нашому ближньому. На знак цієї любові священнослужителі, поцілувавши чесні дари і престол, обмінюються святим поцілунком з привітанням "Христос посеред нас" і відповіддю "І є, і буде", що виражають єдність літургійної спільноти у Христі. Цю єдність висловлюємо також у Символі віри, у якому кожний і особисто, і разом з іншими сповідує віру Церкви в "Отця, і Сина, і Святого Духа, Тройцю єдиносущну і нероздільну."

The Prayer of the Church Community Preparation for the Banquest of the Eucharist

The Cherubic Hymn prepares us for the Banquet of the

Eucharist. Before we can “lift our hearts on high” and “sing

the Thrice-Holy Hymn,” that is, “Holy, holy, holy Lord of

Sabaoth,” we need to “set aside all cares of life” so that

indeed “we may receive the King of all” in Holy Communion.

During the Cherubic Hymn the priest prays that the Lord

would make him worthy “to stand before this, [his] holy

table, and offer the sac­rifice of [his] holy and most pure

Body and precious Blood.” During the Great Entrance he

transfers the gifts, prepared on the Proskomide table, to the

Holy Table. This symbolizes the triumphant entry of Christ

into Jerusalem for the salvific sacrifice, as well as our

reception of him as the King of all—visible and invisible, the

living and the dead—in order to be joined to his Paschal

Mystery. This is why, as he processes with the gifts to the

Holy Table, the priest commemorates the Church hierarchy

and all the faithful. He asks that the Lord remember them

— make them participants of his kingdom.

In the Litany of Supplications, the priest prays for “the gifts

that have been presented.” He asks that “the good Spirit of

[God’s] grace may rest upon us, upon these gifts present

before us, and upon all [his] people.” Before the Symbol of

Faith, that is, the Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed, the deacon

exclaims: “Let us love one another...”This indicates that

a common confession of faith is possible only in love, a love

that we receive from our Lord and then offer to our neighbor.

As a sign of this love, the priests kiss the Holy Table and

exchange the holy kiss among themselves, greeting each other

with the words, “Christ is among us.” Tie response is, “He is

and will be.” This expresses the unity' of the liturgical

assembly in Christ. We also express this unity by pronouncing

the Symbol of Faith. In this Creed, each of us, personally

and together with others, confesses the faith of the Church in

“the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the Trinity one in

being and undivided.”

це "святе возношення" тому, що прийняли "благодать Господа нашого Ісуса Христа, любов Бога і Отця і причастя Святого Духа." Таїнство Євхаристії бере свою назву від тієї молитви благодарення, у якій ми висловлюємо вдячність за все, що прийняли від Бога, за всі Його "добродійства, вчинені нам, які ми знаємо і яких не знаємо – явні і неявні." Ця вдячність-благодарення випереджує всякі прохання про наші потреби, бо ми усвідомлюємо, що, даруючи нам Сина та Духа, Отець уже дарував нам усе для спасіння. Молячись до "несказанного, незбагненного, невидимого і неосяжного" Бога, сповідуємо, що Бог безмежно перевищує все, що знаємо й можемо сказати про Нього та Його діла. Ми дякуємо Богові за сотворення: "Від небуття до буття нас привів", за спасіння: "Коли ми відпали, знову нас підняв і не перестав творити все, поки нас на небо не привів і майбутнє Царство дарував", за цю службу, "яку з рук наших зволив прийняти", та за пізнання цього дару й можливість відповісти на нього. Приєднуючись до пісні серафимів: "Свят, свят, свят", оспівуємо Пресвяту Тройцю: "Святий єси і пресвятий, Ти, і єдинородний твій Син, і Дух твій Святий і велична слава Твоя."

Всесвітній день Хворого: побачити Іншого 11 лютого - Всесвітній день Хворого, міжнародний день, покликаний привернути увагу людей до проблем, з якими зіштовхуються хворі люди по всій планеті Цей День хворого, який започаткував св. Папа Іван Павло II у 1992 році, є ширшою можливістю, щоб привернути увагу громадянського суспільства до хворої людини. У різних країнах цей день відзначають різноманітними ініціативами та програмами.

День хворого покликаний привернути уваги та інформувати. Хвороба - це неухильний етап людського життя. Ми хворіємо. Інколи хвороби довгі та затяжні. Хворі потребуют уваги та допомоги, підтримки та розуміння. І про це не слід забувати.

Церква намагається протистояти клімату гедонізму і релятивізму, який переважає у сучасному суспільстві, підкреслити важливість прийняття хвороби, старості, смерті. Суспільство не може відвертатися від хворих, бо ці люди також є частиною суспільства. Важливе завдання Дня хворого - це змінювати культуру, поширюючи ті цінності, які гуманізують і євангелізують людину, життя і страждання. День хворого покликаний активізувати або посилити ініціативи, спрямовані на допомогу хворим, особам з обмеженими можливостями та літнім людям. З нагоди Дня хворого волонтери приносять символічні подарунки тим, хто страждає у лікарнях та будинках престарілих, а в деяких місцях школярі дарують пацієнтам свою посмішку та листи. День хворого - це найкращий шлях для підвищення чуйності християнських спільнот та громадянського суспільства до світу страждання. Проте важливо, щоб цей День не зводився до однієї окремої події, але щоб підготовка і супровід відбувалися й упродрвж наступних місяців з метою забезпечення постійної праці християнської спільноти поруч із страждаючими.

early Church: Just as Jesus Christ our Saviour was made

flesh through the Word of God, and took on flesh and blood

for our salvation, so too (we have been taught that) through

the word of prayer that comes from him, the food over which

the thanksgiving has been spoken becomes the Flesh and

Blood of the incarnate Jesus, in order to nourish and transform

our flesh and blood.293

The Eucharistic Prayer, or Anaphora (from the Greek,

meaning obla­tion or lifts up), which the presider proclaims

over the bread and wine, expresses the fourfold substance

of the mystery of the Eucharist: (i) it is thanksgiving to the

Father for creating the world and giving his Son for our

salvation; (ii) it is the memorial of ah that the Son of God

did for us; (Hi) it is the offering of ourselves to the Father in

“rational and bloodless worship;” and, (iv) it is prayer for the

sending of the Holy Spirit “upon us and upon these gifts” so

that the mystery of salvation be accomplished in us.

Thanksgiving

The prayer of thanksgiving is preceded by the dialogue

between the clergy and the faithful. There we hear the basic

conditions of the Eucharistic mystery: receiving the “mercy

of peace”—Gods gift of reconcili­ation—we respond with

the “sacrifice of praise.” Our response is praise, blessing,

thanksgiving, worship, and offering—the entire Eucharistic

work. We are able to bring this “holy oblation” because we

have received “the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love

of God the Father, and the fellowship [Le., communion] of

the Holy Spirit.”

The mystery of the Eucharist takes its name from

this prayer of thanksgiving in which we express gratitude

for all that we have received from God. We thank God “for

all things which we know and-do not know' the benefits

bestowed upon us, both manifest and hidden. ”This gratitude

- thanksgiving precedes all petitions for our needs. This is

because we realize that, having given us his Son and

the Holy Spirit, he has given us all for our salvation.

Praying to God, the “ineffable, inconceivable, invisible,

incomprehensible,” we confess that he is infinitely greater

than all that we know or can say about him or his deeds.

We thank God for creation: “[he] brought us from nothingness

into being,” and for salvation: “After we fell [he] raised us

up again [and] did not cease doing everything until [he] led us

to heaven and granted us [his] future kingdom.” We also thank

him “for this liturgy which [he has] deigned to accept from our

hands.” And then we thank him for making us able to know

this gift and to respond to it. Joining the song of the Seraphim

“Holy, holy, holy,” we offer praise to the Most Holy Trinity:

“Holy are you — truly all-holy — you and your only-begotten

Son and your Holy Spirit.” (Christ our Pascha-#371-376)

Help Wanted — Blood Drive Coordinator We are looking for some new “blood” to help sponsor and

coordinate our blood drives here at St. Josaphat. You would work

along with the Red Cross in hosting, getting the word out and

helping them set up the hail.

The past few years, we have been working together with our

neighbors from Our Lady of Grace, in co-sponsoring the drives.

We try to schedule two per year, one in the spring and one in the

fall. We are in the process of securing a date and location for our

spring drive. Please give me a call if you might be interested in

helping out and learning more.
