Now a critically acclaimed artist and a Grammy-winning producer, Dancehall/Reggae artist Delly Ranx represents the pinnacle of reggae music in this modern era. Born Delroy Isaac Foster in the beautiful city of Kingston on the tropical island of Jamaica, Delly has been a fixture in the Dancehall/Reggae industry from an early age. Converting his deepest thoughts into positive, conscious lyrics, Delly Ranx would use his voice to caress the different dancehall and cultural reggae beats, thus creating beautiful songs that are sweet to the ears and soothing to the soul.

Deriving from a humble beginning, he thought that the only way to success was through determination and hard work. At age nine, Delly Ranx entered a popular youth tal-ent contest in his community and triumphantly took the first prize. With such an accomplishment, he earned the respect of his peers and developed the confidence he needed to highlight his God-given, extraordinary talent. After leaving high school he would gain his first national hit with Sound

Boy General, produced by veteran artists Anthony Malvo and Red Rose. This would be no stranger to the other hits that would follow as he began his journey of dominance with Gal Nuh More Than You, Head Ache, and then later the smasher, Pelpa. These would later open the doors for Delly’s grand entrance on the international scene.

Pure Music Productions, the name of Delly Ranx’s record label, has gained much recognition along with many accomplishments in very little time. Just to mention a few, the first major international achievement would present itself by gaining a platinum sale record Ganja Breed on Sean Paul’s album Dutty Rock. They would later climb the Billboard charts with Mavado’s major banger, Weh Them a Do. This was on the “Red Bull and Guiness Riddim”. The “Saudia Arabia Riddim” created another trademark by hav-ing three songs on the top ten charts all at once with Buju Banton’s Things A Come Up, Teflon’s Matey Anthem and Gramps Morgan’s The Almighty.

They would continue to produce good music by creat-ing a number of various artist albums such as: Hennessy, Redbull and Guinness, Ghetto Whiskey, Saudi Arabia, Madd Referee, Sweet Corn, Earth Strong, Belated Earth Strong and the recent Turn Pike Riddim. Their hit singles catalogue would include Toppa Toppa, Coulda’ Runaway featuring Gappy Ranks, World General, Nuh Like Informer, 9 to 5, Work Hard, Life After Lifetime featuring the legendary third world lead singer Bunny Rugs, One Away Soldier, and Thunder Roll featuring the Grammy-winning Buju Banton.

Delly Ranx would reach a point in his career where he had gathered millions of music-loving fans worldwide, and so, in 2007, he would release his first album Break Free. It was only two years later that the hard-working, focused Delly Ranx would cut a second album titled Good Profile. This album would open folks’ eyes even wider when they discovered the real talents of this rising legend that collabo-rated with veteran singer Johnny Osborne on his number one hit Ice Cream Love. His third album would come about as a collaboration with his friend Sadiki titled Fi Di Dancehall.

Delly Ranx now provides a consistently positive mes-sage in his music, singing of peace, love and unity as well as charming the ladies too. He elevates the spirits of his kind and has proven to be a real masterpiece, one that has and will always give you a fine work of art. “Walking away from violent and explicit tunes is a refreshing change”, says Delly Ranx. This very well mannered young man has found himself at a place where he has been able to help others using his talent as an artist and producer and contributes to different charities.

This year Delly Ranx will be releasing his forth album The Next Chapter. This album is one Delly plans to use to illuminate his wonderful works and also to appreciate the origin of this great Reggae music. With authentic sounds and real talent he vows to have only exclusive reggae tracks in creating this collector’s item. “The album will have an old school flavor in a modern fashion”, says Delly Ranx aka “The Worl’ General”.

There is no doubt that Delly Ranx new album, The Next Chapter, is a release for his fans. The die-hards that no matter what will support Delly and every note he performs. Here’s the catch: Delly is about to attract new fans!

To date, Delly has entertained the masses with Dance-hall hits such as “Toppa Toppa” (a 1990’s classic), and recent hits “Bruk It” on the Summer in Paris Riddim and “World General” on the Hot Water Riddim. ‘The Next Chap-ter’ in Delly’s story does not include Dancehall in the musi-cal sense, instead, the artist goes 100% Reggae.

Honoring the genre that nurtured the artist from concep-tion to birth, and from birth to adulthood, The Next Chapter covers a range of topics as seen through Delly’s eyes, with a few songs that stand out for reasons that must be noted.

First, “Life After Lifetime” is a collaboration with the living legend, Bunny Ruggs (of Third World). Beyond the basic yet important message that life is what you make it, Delly,

by example, shows the younger generations that it is im-portant to embrace the elders and work with them not only for the sake of doing the right thing, but for the fact that we can actually learn from each other, and sound good in the process.

Second, on the topic of taking musical risks, I find it quite brave of Delly and successful too that he would include Dub on the album.

The Dub genre is one that is waning in North America and the Caribbean, and only holds true stature in Europe and the South Asia’s. Including Dub on the album and ex-posing his core audience to this often forgotten piece of our roots, likens Delly to that of a music teacher who wants stu-dents to pass the test when this genre is included on a pop quiz. Fans will note that “Good Friend” produced by Flava Squad is refreshing to ears that have been dominated by Island Pop and loose Dancehall.

Finally, the song “Cry Baby” is one that will be a forever classic. Singing words that a true lover of children can sing, listeners hear about the joy of watching a baby grow from the viewpoint of an artist who is concerned about a baby’s nurture! This hasn’t been done in some time which makes me applaud Delly for remembering our future.
