Mission Statement Our Lady of Lourdes Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, established in 1967, is a parish of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kingston. Called by God in Scripture and Tradition, we share in the Mission of the universal church to worship God. Living our baptismal call to holiness, our faith is deepened when we commit ourselves to the service of all within the parish and the world for the building up of His church to the honour and glory of God. Through the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes, may we be open to the gifts of the Holy Spirit through Christ, the Lord.

    ~ Amen.

    Prayer for a Good Confession

Receive my confession, O most loving and gracious Lord Jesus Christ, only hope for the salvation of my soul. Grant to me true contrition of soul, so that day and night I may by penance make satisfaction for my sins. Saviour of the world, O good Jesus, Who gave Yourself to the death of the Cross to save sinners, look upon me, have pity on me, and give me the light to know my sins, true sorrow for them, and a firm purpose of never committing them again.

O gracious Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Lourdes, refuge of sinners, I implore you to obtain for me by your powerful intercession these graces from your Divine Son, Jesus.

    Amen.

FROM: Brendan M. OBrien, Archbishop of Kingston DATE: 17 March, 2015 RE: Share Lent 2015 | Sow Much Love____________________________________________________________________________ Dear Monsignor/Father:

The Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace was founded in1967 by the bishops of Canada. The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops regularly reaffirms the importance of the mission of Development and Peace and its role within our Church, our society, and our world. Development and Peace is also the Canadian arm of Caritas Internationalis, a global confederation of Catholic charitable organizations which is headquartered at the Vatican and works closely with the Holy See. This network allows Development and Peace to act promptly to aid victims of natural disasters and conflicts. Recent endeavours include aid to victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, conflicts in Syria and Iraq, and the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone. Development and Peace financially supports over 100 partner organizations which are working to build a just world in over 30 countries. This years Share Lent campaign, Sow Much Love, is focussed on eradicating hunger by supporting small farmers in the Global South. This is part of the global Caritas Internationalis campaign against hunger which was launched by Pope Francis in 2013. To enable Development and Peace to fulfill its important mission, the bishops of Canada selected the Fifth Sunday of Lent as a time for Canadian Catholics to demonstrate their solidarity with their brothers and sisters in the Global South by contributing to the Share Lent Campaign.
