Hearing Aids Can HelpYour Brain

Hearing aids have been provento improve the quality of life forseniors with hearing loss. Now,new research indicates they mayalso contribute to cognitivefunction. Results from a recentColumbia University MedicalCenter study show thatparticipants with hearing aidsscored significantly higher on teststhan those without hearing aids.Researchers believe that hearingloss is linked to sensory-specificcognitive decline, but the simpleuse of hearing aids can slow thatdecline or even prevent it bykeeping seniors with hearing losssocially engaged and connected.
