HOW I MADE MY

MAGAZINE AND POSTER

For both my magazine and poster I started with a plain black background.

I then added the billing block at the bottom centred as most poster put this at the bottom

I the decided to put the portal poster onto the page and remove text and change things around to make my magazine

I then added a blue background for the night sky using the bucket tool.

I then deleted the text at the top and put the title of magazine at the very top like all the other empire magazine and put the price and date between the “M” and special edition in yellow on top of the title

I then used a texture brush to add the grass in black. I also got a 18 certificate logo by the billing block.

I then used the left hand side to fill text in of secondary features using different colours to make it stand out from background.

Then I used my picture of a person with a hoody and placed him in the centre of the poster, using the bucket I made the whole image black, and using the pencil to put blood dripping from the knife. The two trees were then placed either side which was used by texture brushes. Then the half moon was also used by a brush, but I had to make the opacity right and the bluish colour to be seen through the moon making it look better. The text was then placed at the top of the poster with a review tagline and director it was from. I then used a pencil to make the little stars in the sky, the grey clouds was used with a light brush as I thought it looked better then just the night sky.

I then changed around the bottom of the poster but making the name of the film shorter to put other features in. I put one more secondary feature down the hand side in yellow, then the red highlight righting by using shapes is red underneath the text which is related two the main feature. I then copied my poster in the gave the poster a white border and rotated at an angle as a free item you get with the magazine. At the bottom of my poster I added in text that uses different coloured writing within the text like a lot of magazine do. The barcode I also copied in and the text on the right hand side.

This is the is what the poster looks like, as you can see I have added the title using a font from and underneath text saying “coming soon”.
