Influences/ films of various that may inspire my Horror If I were to choose to create a production revolved around the horror genre, films such as The Shining and The Silence of the lambs would be great to gain inspiration from. Both films have a variety of codes and conventions of the horror genre e.g. tension, characters of a suspicious, scary nature. In addition, both films have the aspect of tension, as well as iconic dialogue such as ‘its Johnny’. Many other codes of conventions e.g. secluded location, specific whether are also important. Binary opposition such as good and evil may be included in the film, to create a sense of conflict within the plot. On example of this within the horror genre would be man vs Dracula. Biopic Biopic films may be taken into consideration, as again, props can be used to a good extent, as well as being able to use mise-en-scene. However, the story/plot is already there to be studied. Todorov’s theory is very likely to he included, with a beginning, climax, and then a restoration. The representation of the character would also be a

production

Horror If I were to choose to create a production revolved around the horror genre, films such as The Shining and The Silence of the lambs would be great to gain inspiration from. Both films have a variety of codes and conventions of the horror genre e.g. tension, characters of a suspicious, scary nature. In addition, both films have the aspect of tension, as well as iconic dialogue such as ‘its Johnny’. Many other codes of conventions e.g. secluded location, specific whether are also important.

Binary opposition such as good and evil may be included in the film, to create a sense of conflict within the plot. On example of this within the horror genre would be man vs Dracula.

The horror genre would allow me to use a variety of props, as well as include an array of factors such as mise-en-scene, institutions, and to be able to explore a variety of character types (propps character types?: Hero, Villain, ).

BiopicBiopic films may be taken into consideration, as again, props can be used to a good extent, as well as being able to use mise-en-scene. However, the story/plot is already there to be studied. Todorov’s theory is very likely to he included, with a beginning, climax, and then a restoration. The representation of the character would also be a major factor. The use of stereotypes, codes and conventions, as well as the views of the audience will all influence the representation of the subject.
