It’s a place where students develop academically but also, it’s a place for them to discover who they are and where they want to be in the world. When I first set foot in Yateley, before taking the job of Director of Sixth Form, I was overwhelmed by the friendly atmosphere that pervades the whole campus. Where else can you pop in and chat to the Boss about university plans or activism ideas? Tutors know their tutees, their plans and ambitions. Teachers care about their Sixth Formers.

At Yateley we take pride in the individual care of our students; we play to their strengths and support any weaker areas. Whatever the goal, university or an apprenticeship or a job, we know that admissions tutors and employers will pick the well qualified and interesting over the

simply qualified every time. And we support our Sixth Formers to discover what they are interested in, and what they are passionate about. Because we aren’t huge we really know all of our students, and can provide genuine personalised provision. But we are large enough to be vibrant, exciting and offer some of the most impressive facilities in the area.

Yateley is never dull. The close community and mix of students ensure that there is always something going on-coupled with our regular Sixth Form events, life gets pretty exciting. Of course you still need to work hard but that’s all part of the Sixth Form experience, and your tutor and teachers will be there to offer help and advice-and get excited about the events too!

Join our trips to London museums and galleries. Desperate to become a marine biologist? We will work with you all of the way. Individual attention and tailored advice is the name of the game. No two Yateley students are alike, and we like it like that.

At Yateley there is opportunity all around you. One of the hardest things is to stand out from the crowd. At Yateley we work hard to create opportunities that build on our students’ individual interests and ambitions, whatever those may be. Become part of the Yateley Entrepreneurs Group working with local business, join Russell’s Friends heading off to a top university, or start racking up your volunteer points helping in our community and boosting your CV in the process. There is always something new to get involved in and who knows - you could become our next aviation scholar or a Harvard star.

OPPORTUNITY

Success breeds success: or so they say; and Yateley is the proof. We have real pedigree with students heading off to Oxford and Cambridge, and to Medicine and Veterinary College every year. Yateley students have recently secured scholarships with TAG Air, SEG and the National Costume School: all one in 500 shots, or tougher. And if the going gets really tough, our tutors and team care enough to work with students individually to make sure they have the best chance of their dreams coming true.
