To date we are behind our budgeted goal by nearly $39,000. This is part of the amount we actually need to operate our parish and it is somewhat less than at this time last year. If you have fallen behind in your commitment to the parish and would like to help us lessen this amount and ease the financial burden it would be so appreciated. PARISH OFFICES CLOSED FRIDAY AFTERNOONS THIS SUMMER. Beginning this week our Parish Offices will be closed on Friday afternoons for the balance of the summer. Adjusted office hours will be Monday through Thursday- 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon and 1:00 to 4:30 P.M. and Friday 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon. These hours will be in effect through Friday, September 1. WE HOPE YOU NOTICE how our north parking lot area is continuing to be “spruced up”. We are grateful to Chris and Mara Bergen and Kevin and Susie Johnson of Bergen’s Green House for their gift of Physocarpus plants that will form a hedge on the north side of the parking lot. Beginning today I will be gone from the parish (with the exception of this Wednesday) to enjoy a few days of summer with family and friends. Believe it or not I am going to attend the sixtieth anniversary of a water ski club that I belonged to years ago (and yes-I used to be able to be on water skis and a saucer in my younger years). So this should be a great time. I will return on Friday, July 7. Blessings on your summer days!

DOORS, LIGHTS AND AIR CONDITIONING: In our efforts to keep the heat out, the cool air in, and the electricity bill low; let’s all make an effort to keep the church doors closed and lights off in areas that are not being used. Thank you for being God’s faithful stewards.

Something to think about. In this noisy, busy world are we careful not to take the Eucharist for granted? When you receive the Holy Eucharist, ask yourself: “How will this encounter with Jesus change me?” We are called to change whatever it is in our life that does not reflect the manner in which Jesus calls us to live. He desires us to be holy, happy, and healthy people. Here is a quote from “The Gift and the Giver” by Edward Farrell that can help you reflect on what we truly receive and not confuse the gift and the giver.

We ask for a piece of sand and He gives us a beach.

We ask for a drop of water and He gives us an ocean.

We ask for time and He gives us life eternal.

And it is so easy for us to fall in love with the gift

and forget the giver.

GREAT JOB HOLY ROSARY SCHOOL STUDENTS!

Parish and Area News

This will be both physically and emotionally draining for us, and any extra prayers and us would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

This upcoming week, XLT will be in Detroit Lakes. Frisbee will be at 3:00 pm, dinner at 6:00 pm, and XLT at 7:00 pm. Cody Klamm from Crookston will be giving our keynote that day. Please Note

We are not taking White Elephant and Live Auction items until

after July 4th. When you see trailer in the south parking lot--then

it’s time! Our Everyday Angel collection site is not the White

Elephant site!

Here’s your chance to be creative!

UPCYCLE - RECYLCE BOOTH

You may have noticed some items in the two entrances of the church showing ways that you can upcycle items. This is just the beginning! The possibilities are endless. Get your thinking caps on and start working on items for the booth.

SILENT AUCTION Be creative! There are unlimited possibilities! We also encourage you to consider donating art prints, collectible glass or any items suitable for the Silent Auction. May you have a nice empty basket we can fill. Start bringing them in after July 4th!

That’s right...this year we are featuring a chicken dinner instead of a pork dinner. Don’t worry--it will be tasty and worth it! Don’t forget the Farmer’s Market - if you have garden produce to share, we certainly will make use of it! I wonder what kind of cookies Deacon Gary will be making????
