SACRAMENTS AT HOLY ROSARY SHRINE: For the school year of 2021-2022 the Shrine will
continue the Confirmation, First Communion and other Religious education Classes that were in place in Corpus Christi Parish at the time of the transition on December 1, 2021.
Beginning in the Fall of 2022, Shrine families who desire Sacramental Preparation for their children can enroll them in the program offered by the parish in which they live or, if they prefer, we will request permission from their Pastor to offer the classes here at the Shrine. Children of Shrine families can receive their First Communion and Confirmation at the Shrine. A reminder that the territory of the former Parish of Corpus Christi is now part of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Lawrence.
We realize that this may be a difficult transition for some families so please contact the Shrine office to speak with Fr. Peter or one of the friars if you have any questions or difficulties. We want to do everything possible to make sure your children receive proper religious formation.
Cardinal O’Malley has given us the mission of having adult formation programs. Adults may enter the RCIA program in the Parish in which they live or request to participate in a program at the Shrine.
The Shrine also has authority to perform Baptismsand Weddings. If you like to have your child baptized here please contact the office to arrange a date. There will be a preparation class for the parents and Godparents. If you would like to receive the Sacrament of Marriage here, please contact the office to speak with one of the priests at least six months prior to the time you would like to get married. Please speak to the priest prior to making any other wedding plans, for example: before booking a hall for a reception.
For the Sacrament of the Sick: If a person is in the hospital the hospital staff should be notified to contact the priest on call. This will normally be the fastest way to have a priest come. If it is not an emergency, normally the Pastor of the Parish where the person lives has the authority and responsibility to administer the Sacrament. However, Pastors are usually very flexible in allowing other priests to do so. So if you would like to request that one of the Shrine priests do an anointing please call the office and we will try to respond promptly. Notas de los Frailes Hemos entrado en el tiempo litúrgico conocido como “Adviento Mayor”. Este período (17-23 de diciembre) es siempre siete días antes de la vigilia de Navidad. Las lecturas de la misa diaria se eligen especialmente para ayudarnos a meditar sobre la venida de Jesús. Único en esta época son las "O Antífonas". Las "O Antífonas" se remontan al siglo VII y están compiladas a partir de fuentes bíblicas y eclesiásticas. Se registran antes del Magnificat de María todos los días en la Oración Vespertina y la Aclamación del Evangelio en la Misa. Los títulos latinos, los orígenes de las escrituras y las fechas que se recitan son los siguientes:
Cada día el pueblo de Dios invoca al Señor para que venga y los salve; lo más interesante es cómo él nos responde. La primer letra de cada invocación latina escrita en orden inverso revela el acróstico: ERO CRAS. Significa "Seré mañana". La Palabra Eterna nos dice: "Estaré (aquí) mañana," y nosotros, la iglesia, celebramos Su Nacimiento en Belén al día siguiente en Navidad!
