Journey Deep into the Faith The response to Catholicism, a new ground-breaking program we

have been offering, continues to receive an overwhelmingly positive

response. By ―popular demand‖ we are beginning an new time-slot

to view this stunningly beautiful program. Catholicism has a simple

but powerful way of revealing the truth, beauty and goodness of our

Catholic faith.

A new study group is forming for Mondays, 10:00 a.m. beginning

April 2, Holy Family Room. All are welcome to participate.

We will continue to show the video series on Sunday mornings after

the 9:00 am Mass in the Holy Family Room. The video last about

50 minutes and has a specific topic each week. It is not sequential so

you jump in whenever it works in your schedule. We will continue

to show this series on Tuesday mornings at 9:00 am.

Whether you have doubts or questions about your Catholic faith or

simply desire to deepen your faith, this program will be sure to satis-

fy whatever your needs are. You will not be disappointed! Feel free

to contact JoAnne at 847-1393 with any questions or if you want to

start a new group at a more convenient time.

Infant Baptism Preparation…Next session is scheduled

for Thursday, April 12 from 7:00 – 8:15 p.m. in the Holy

Family Room. If you are planning to present your baby

for Baptism, please contact the Parish Office (847-1393)

before April 12. Whenever possible, try to have both par-

ents attend the preparation session.

Liturgical Ministers –Holy Week thru Easter

There are sign-up sheets on a table in the Lake Avenue

church entrance for the following liturgies: Holy Thursday

(7 p.m.), Good Friday (7 p.m.), and Holy Saturday Easter

Vigil (8 p.m.), Easter Sunday (9 a.m.) and Easter Sunday

(11 a.m.). Note: If you are already on the April schedule

for the 9:00 or 11:00 a.m. Sunday Masses, sign your

name in that same spot on the Easter sign-up sheet. By

doing so we will know that you are planning to be in your

usual spot at your usual Mass. Know that your help will

be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

―Of course, the first time Christ uttered the

word ‗Abba‘ on this earth, he was likely looking into

the eyes of St. Joseph, which is a point that is worthy

of mention. God the Father could have chosen to

allow the Blessed Virgin to live and work as a single

mother. He could have given her a couple of extra

guardian angels or sent Elizabeth to care for her. He

is the God who created the giraffe, the coffee bean,

and cumulus clouds. He does not suffer from a lack

of creativity or specificity in his providence, design,

or problem solving.

Some suggest that God only had St. Joseph

as part of the Holy Family because of cultural expec-

tations, but that is dangerously presumptuous. This

is a God who constantly laughs (Psalm 2:4) in the

face of social norms. St. Joseph is not window-

dressing in the home of the Holy Family; he is noth-

ing less than one of the greatest men to ever walk

the planet. A model of manhood and virtue, God the

Father specifically called and designed Joseph to be

the living embodiment of manhood and fatherhood

to the second Person of the Holy Trinity during his

most formative years.

In St. Joseph, then, we‘re given a glimpse

into the heart of God the Father. It would be com-

pletely illogical to think, after all the trouble of the

incarnation, that he would fail to choose a man who

reflected his divine image of paternal love with the

highest possible measure of human faithfulness.‖

“A Parent's Main Message"

Preparing our Children’s Hearts

As parents we have the most rewarding and most challenging job of preparing our children for their own adulthood years. PTO has invited Christian Life Coach, Bonnie Juma, to present “A PARENTS MAIN MESSAGE” to parents of our parish on practi-cal tools we can use to ensure that we have taught our children how to prepare their heart, and what this means. In this presen-tation she will walk us through how we can encourage (vs. dis-courage) our children, and healthy vs. unhealthy boundaries in relationships. Understanding this in alignment with God’s Word helps us to know how to prepare our hearts and our children’s hearts for living out a life of love.

We as parents have the opportunity to encourage and help our children grow into "the best possible version" of them-selves. How we do this depends on many factors:

our own guiding principles our relationship boundaries how we define success the main messages we send to our children

Very often we parent out of habit and can be reactive in-stead of proactive in teaching and guiding our children. Let's take a look at how we can more intentionally be a pos-itive influence in our children's lives and create more peace and joy in our homes.

Presents

The Living Stat ions of the Cross

A special Lenten family event for the WHOLE Parish.

Mass at 5:30 pm followed by a delicious soup supper.

Living Stations at 7:00 pm in the church

What a wonderful opportunity for all our families (adults and children) to take

part in this beautiful prayer tradition of our church and remember how much

Jesus sacrificed for us! We hope EVERYONE can take part in this wonderful

evening. If time is a factor and you can not make Mass and/or the Soup Supper,

please know we welcome your attendance at the Living Stations.
