    Rice Harvesting Losses Due to Use of Combine Harvesters 1) 2)

    AbstractThe objective of this study was to study harvesting losses of rice using combine harvesters. Khao Dok Mali 105 and

    Chainat 1 varieties were evaluated by random tests of 13 and 15 combine harvesters respectively. For Khao Dok Mali 105 variety,total losses was 3.16%. Header losses was 58.94% of the total losses of Khao Dok Mali 105 variety. For Chainat 1 variety, totallosses was 6.81% or approximately double of losses of Khao Dok Mali 105 variety. Separating in threshing unit caused 87.59% ofthe total losses of Chainat 1 variety.Keyword: combine harvester, harvesting losses, rice

    Losses of Corn Shelling due to the Use of Axial Flow Rice Threshers 1) 2)

    AbstractThe objective of this study was to study losses of corn shelling due to the use of axial flow rice threshers in late rainy

    season crop of 2008 and early rainy season crop of 2009, 17 and 10 units of the thresher were tested respectively. Results of thestudy indicated that the average losses due to shelling, separating, and cleaning were 0.11, 0.24, and 0.08 % respectively with theaverage total losses of 0.43 %. The average cleaning efficiency and grain damage were 98.54 and 1.72 % respectively. The totallosses were higher and the cleanliness was lower for the early rainy season crop compared with the other season. Keywords: Axial Flow Rice Thresher, Corn Shelling, Loss
