Entonces Jesús se enderezó y le preguntó: “Mujer, ¿dónde están

los que te acusaban? ¿Nadie te ha condenado?” Ella le contestó:

“Nadie, Señor”. Y Jesús le dijo: “Tampoco yo te condeno. Vete y

¡Ya viene la quinta semana de Cuaresma! ¡La Pascua no está lejos! El profeta Isaías hoy nos recuerda que, "Voy a abrir caminos en el desierto y haré que corran los ríos en la tierra árida. ... porque haré correr agua en el desierto, y ríos en el yermo, para apagar la sed de mi pueblo escogido. Entonces el pueblo que me he formado proclamará mis alabanzas."

¿Es mi vida una alabanza viva para Dios? ¿O estoy pagando al Señor por todo lo que ha hecho con el servicio de labios? El salmista proclama: “El Señor ha hecho grandes cosas por nosotros; ¡Estamos llenos de alegría! ”Lo que nos hace otra pregunta. ¿He entrado en esta temporada de penitencia y sacrificio con un Espíritu de Alegría?

La buena noticia es que no importa cuál haya sido nuestra disposición hasta ahora, todavía tenemos tiempo para hacerlo bien. ¡Dios está lleno de Misericordia! Vemos este amor expresado por la mujer humillada en el Evangelio de Juan. A pesar de una vida de pecados y malas decisiones, Jesús no desea que esta mujer se avergüence. Aunque debidamente condenada, el Señor no desea su condena, sino su arrepentimiento. Él no desea su muerte, sino su transformación a través de la Gracia. ¡Qué bueno y misericordioso es Dios!

Dios desea mostrarte la misma misericordia. Él desea saciar tu sed con las mismas aguas de la Misericordia. Todo lo que necesitas hacer es expresar tu dolor y tu deseo de arrepentirte ... ¡y luego confesar! No hay vergüenza en Jesús, solo amor.

Hay un sacerdote que está felizmente esperando que regreses al Sacramento de la Confesión. Ve a verlo mientras tenemos esta maravillosa oportunidad y no te demores, porque la Pascua no está muy lejos.

Pastor’s Corner

Already the fifth week of Lent is upon us! Easter is not far off! The prophet Isaiah reminds us today that, “In the desert I make a way, in the wasteland, rivers…for I put water in the desert and rivers in the wasteland for my chosen people to drink…that they might announce my praise.”

Is my life a living praise of God? Or am I repaying the Lord for all he has done with lip service? The psalmist proclaims, “The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy!” Which begs another question. Have I entered into this Season of penance and sacrifice with a Spirit of Joy?

The good news is that no matter what our disposition has been until now, we still have time to get it right. God is full of Mercy! We see this love expressed for the humiliated woman in John’s Gospel. Despite perhaps a lifetime of sin and bad choices, Jesus does not desire this woman to be shamed. Though rightfully convicted, the Lord does not desire her condemnation but rather her repentance. He desires not her death, but rather her transformation through Grace. How good and gracious God is!

God desires to show you the same mercy. He desires to quench your thirst with the same waters of Mercy. All you need to do, is express your sorrow and your desire to repent…and then confess! There is no shame in Jesus, only Love.

There is a priest who is happily waiting for you to return to the Sacrament of Confession. Go and see him while we have this wonderful opportunity and do not delay, for Easter is not far off!
