Eaton’s new DuraForce products help

trailer the load

Despite high customer demand, Eaton®

high-pressure pumps and motors ar-

rived just in time for installation on an

18-axle carrier.

It takes a lot of hydraulic muscle to move oceangoing ships, but the job is not too weighty for

Eaton’s new DuraForce™ high-pressure pumps, motors, and control valves.

Developed in a global strategic alliance with Linde, the Eaton products are performing wheel drive, steering, and jack-up func-tions on all 18 axles of a custom-ized 500-ton-capacity carrier built by Toyo Trailer Company, Ltd. of Osaka, Japan. The 59-foot (18-

meter) carrier was delivered in July 2011 to an Asian shipbuilder.

Eaton 420 Series pumps deliver high pressure in a small

package to maximize power density. They are ideal so-

lutions for constrained space applications. Eaton 420

Series pumps are available with displacements ranging

from 41to 80 cc (2.5 to 4.88 in3) at operating pressures

up to 280 bar (4000 psi). Eaton 420 pumps configura-

tions are available to fit popular transmission and PTO

packages, including torque control, and through drives.

June, 2012 Jeff Allen – Eaton Corp.

visits with HSC

Jeff Allen, Senior VP & GM of the

Power and Motion Control Division with

Eaton Corporation visited the sales and

leadership teams of Hydraulic Supply

Company to get acquainted with our or-

ganization. Along with Bob Tripp,

Eaton’s ASM for HSC, we toured the

distribution center, discussed strategies

for growing PMC both domestically and

overseas, and then visited the other areas

of our business including one of our re-

pair centers and two retail locations.

Over the two day event, many opportuni-

ties and projects were reviewed with the

focus of one common goal, Winning!

Jeff Allen brings the leadership and com-

mitment needed to make these goals hap-

pen. With his expert team of product

managers, we are well on our way to

providing the solutions our customers

require. Thank you Jeff, Bob, and all the

fine ladies and gentlemen behind the

scene that make Eaton a premier manu-

facturer in the hydraulics industry!

path system for propulsion and steering functions.

Eaton’s tandem heavy duty pumps and motors

successfully passed in-field trials, thus ensuring

KPG would keep its combine harvesters operating

at peak performance. “The test trials were a great

success,” said Eaton’s Louis Tee, product market-

ing manager. “KPG was very impressed with the

excellent performance of Eaton’s heavy-duty

pumps and motors and made the decision to stan-

dardize on them for its KT-08 and KPH-22T mod-

els.”

Thailand has a strong tradition of rice production. It

has the fifth-largest amount of land under rice culti-

vation in the world and is the world’s largest ex-

porter of rice. For this reason high reliability and

durability were at the top of the requirement list

when KPG picked the drive system for their har-

vesters, explaining that with Thailand’s 23 million

acres of rice-producing farmland, rice harvesters

are often operating in remote, undulating terrain

that is not easily accessible for machinery repair

and maintenance. With a long history of business

development and working closely with end-users to

identify the real needs of rice farmers, Eaton made

a proposal based on their Series 1 heavy-duty hy-

drostatic variable pumps and motors. The pumps

and motors would work in tandem to drive a dual

This represents a significant im-

provement in delivery and demon-

strates Eaton’s commitment to the

industrial market. The PVM Series

pumps are rated to 4,000 psi and

available from 18cc to 141cc dis-

placements. The low noise, flexible

configuration, and reliable design

of the PVM make it the premier

pump for the majority medium duty

industrial applications.

If you have any questions or are

interested in moving in lead time on

existing orders, please contact our

customer service representative.

Beginning June 18, 2012 all or-

ders placed on PVM Preferred (A)

assemblies will be shipped to 11

We are continuing work with our

operations and supply base teams

and in the coming weeks we expect

to make further improvements to
