Thank you to Mrs Carolyn Spender for organising the whole school activity which will be taking place on Tuesday 24 August. Years 3-6 will be viewing the Livestream event at 9:15 a.m. and Years K-2 at 10:15 a.m. The link to the live stream will be made available next week. Principal’s Report Dear Parents and carers,

Fun facts Since August 2 our students have spent 1118 hours online, this includes accessing Google Classroom as well as Zoom sessions. Below is the amount of SeeSaw traffic that has taken place since the start of remote learning. It is important to know that our students are learning and all staff are making sure that every child in known, valued and cared for.

AGM

The next P&C meeting is in Week 3 in Term 4 - on Monday 18th October - which is our Annual General Meeting

via ZOOM again. ALL POSITIONS vacate and new nominations taken and/or will be re-elected. Still specifically

seeking nominees for 1) P&C Secretary and 2) Band President roles. Please contact me if you have any

questions at all, or if you would like any meeting minutes sent to you to see what we have been discussing lately.

Book Week Update Celebrating Children’s Book Week This year we are celebrating Children’s Book Week between 23-27 August 2021. The theme for Book Week this

year is Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds.

Thank you to everyone who uploaded a video/photo of themselves in their Book Week costume. A link to view the

virtual book parade will be available next week.

Just a reminder, students are to view the ‘Bigger, Better, Brighter’ Livestream Book Week performance on Tuesday

24 August 2021. Years 3-6 will be viewing the Livestream event at 9:15 a.m. and Years K-2 at 10:15 a.m. A link

with our unique school login will be sent out soon so students are able to view the performance online from home

or at school. The cost of this performance is $6.75 and will be included on the Term 4 invoice.

Many students in Years 3-6 are very close to finishing the reading challenge. The Challenge closes

How to Enrol

1. Check eligibility requirements https://my.education.nsw.gov.au/school-finder/index. This will tell you if you

need to complete an In Area or Out of Area Enrolment Form.

2. Go to the Normanhurst Public School Website https://normanhurs-p.schools.nsw.gov.au/.

3. Complete an Online Application Form for In Area or Out of Area Enrolments. See instructions below on how

to access the online form. Please note that online Out of Area Enrolments (OoA) will only be possible online

from Thursday June 17 2021. Prior to this date, OoA Enrolments can be completed by printing the application

form found on the website.

4. Contact the school via email for information if required. Email your 100 point ID check documents (see

document on the next page attached for details). The required 100 point check documents as well as your

child’s Birth certificate and immunization certificate can be emailed to the school.

5. If you would prefer not to enrol online - you can print the application from the website and email it to the

school.

6. Out of Area Enrolments

As outlined in the department’s enrolment policy, our school may accept enrolments from outside our local

enrolment area if places are available. We will assess applications for non-local enrolment on a case-by-

case basis.
