SCBRA NEWSLETTER 3 March 2017
SOUTHERN COLORADO BARREL RACING ASSOCIATION
Who are we? Our 26th season - 2017
We, as barrel racers, felt a need for an association that can provide all of us with competition and ex-
cellence in barrel racing. So as a group, we organized the SCBRA in 1991. Our goal is to organize and raise
the level of competition and improve barrel racing as a sport.
As a member of SCBRA, you will earn points with us in the OPEN, SENIOR, YOUTH and NOVICE
HORSE classes. As you rack up points in your own organization, money earned from the sanctioned races
listed below will be accumulated dollar-for-dollar in SCBRA in accordance with our 2017 Rule Book. These
earnings will be accumulated for our year-end awards to be held in early October. Please contact our Presi-
dent Pam Ferguson ([email protected]) to join our family! Check us out at SCBRA.com.

SCBRA NEWSLETTER 4 March 2017
Q. I just recently joined SCBRA. There was a lot of information given to me so I’m
not sure I remembered everything that I am supposed to do each month.
A. Congratulations on joining our SCBRA family of barrel racers! Yes there is a lot of
information for new members to remember but here are the three most important fac-
tors:
1) Attend the races that are sanctioned by SCBRA. In our newsletter you will
find a listing and a calendar of the sanctioned races. This includes info you will need for
each race plus directions to each arena. You can find a list of our sanctioned producers
under “Who Are We?” in each NL. These are the races that you will be able to count
the earnings that you win.
2) YOU keep track of your earnings each month with the Point Card that will be
included in each Newsletter that you receive. This needs to be postmarked or emailed
by the 7th of the following month to our secretary.
3) YOU can only count two earnings in the OUT of Boundary races and up to eight
races with the IN Boundary races.
Feel free to contact any Board Member for further questions or refer to our 2017 Rule
Book through SCBRA.com.
