nightmare we had experienced in which the OFWs are the ones paying OWWA membership that the employer is supposed to.

Some of our OFWs are worried that if the bill enacted into law, the implementing regulations could be the same as OWWA membership. Well, it should not be treated seriously, am sure no one in the 35 members Committee on Overseas Workers Affairs will approve it even in the first reading.

The said bill according to the house journal was filed May 17, 2012 and was referred to the Overseas Workers Affairs Committee on May 23, 2012 headed by Rep. Walden Bello where it was logged as of national significance. The House committee daily bulletin Volume II, No. 113 dated May 23, 2012 prepared by the Committee Affairs Department did not mention any report about HB 6195.

The Committee tackled and approved the substitute Bill to HBs 2422 and 3562 filed by Reps. Gathalian and Violago. Both House Bill 2422 and 3562 is seeking for the creation of a charter that shall govern the operation and administration of OWWA. The said bill is to define the membership base and coverage of

benefits and identify the programs for availment of its members, fund management and public accountability of its administrative officials.

The measure according to the bill’s explanatory note is designed to contribute to a more effective and efficient delivery of services to accord a greater mantle of protection for our OFWs as well as advancement of their rights and welfare. The members of the Committee also tackles the update on the implementation of Section 4 of RA 8042, as amended by RA 10022, otherwise known as the Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995

Invisible Fathers My friend Emmanuel’s father was a lawyer. Later on, he became a judge and was promoted all the way to the Supreme Court. Emmanuel was proud of his father. But when our conversations became intimate, he’d tear up, and tell me that he rarely saw his father. When he woke up, his father was rushing out for his breakfast meetings. In the evenings, his father wasn’t home yet. Emmanuel grew up knowing his father was an important man doing very important things. But as he grew up, he realized he wasn’t one of these important things his father did.

Years later, Emmanuel came to know God in a personal way. Yet for years, he wondered how important he really was in God’s heart. Autistic Fathers

Some fathers are physically present at home. But they don’t engage their kids. Instead, they’re wrapped up in their own world. Either watching TV or surfing the web. That’s why I call them autistic fathers. Many years ago, I met Grace. She told me that as a child, her goal in life was to make her father smile at her. Because he never did. Oh, she would find him laughing with his barkada. But never to her. One day, she came home with very high grades on her report card. In her heart, she hoped that perhaps today, he would smile at her. But when she gave him the report card, all her father did was look at it for two seconds, grunt, tossed it back, and went back watching TV. Not one word of affirmation or appreciation. Her little heart was crushed. For years, Grace had a hard time imagining that God was pleased with her. She always imagined God having a perpetual frown on his face. Cruel Fathers Dulce’s father is the most barbaric father I’ve ever heard of in my life. When she was 3 years old, he raped her. Years later, she always had this nightmare of her head being pushed into a toilet bowl. She realized why. Because her father warned her not to tell anyone of the rape or he’d drown her in the toilet. For the next ten years, for the slightest mistakes (such as a spilled glass of milk), her father would whip her with his belt until blood flowed. When he was lashing her, her mother would tell him, “Don’t hit her below the knees!” So that the wounds would be covered by her skirt. Dulce is now an adult but suffers massive physical, emotional, and spiritual torments. She has gone through 9 surgeries in various parts of her body. Her doctors discovered micro-strokes in her brain, caused by the head banging she suffered as a child. But her emotional pain was even more severe than her physical pain.I’m happy to say that Dulce enjoys an intimate relationship with God. God has healed and continues to heal her. But it took years of healing and learning to trust a tender loving Father. Unfaithful Father

Fides was still a small child when she saw her father walk out of their house carrying his suitcase. At that time, she didn’t know that he was abandoning her, her mother, and her two brothers for another woman. Unlike her brothers who rebelled and got into drugs, Fides became even more obedient. She became even more responsible. Her school grades shot to the moon. Everyone praised her for being such a good girl.

Later on, Fides realized she blamed herself for the separation of her parents. Inexplicably, she believed that if she were only a better girl, her father would have never left. And for years, she secretly hoped that if she became that better girl, perhaps her father would come back.

For years, Fides’ relationship with God was also about buying His love. She would always try to be good to try to please Him—so He would love her. She had this constant fear that if she made one mistake, God would abandon her too.

Daddy Is Emmanuel Daddy is Emmanuel—which means God with us. Friend, I don’t know what darkness you’re going through right now. Perhaps you’re praying for your child who is on drugs. Or your husband is

having an affair. Or you’re having financial problems right now. Remember that in your darkness, God is with you. He will never leave or abandon you. When you’re in pain, God embraces you and feels your pain. He weeps with you. Because Daddy is Emmanuel.

Daddy is Grace Daddy means Grace. Grace means gift. Two weeks ago, my son Bene came up to me and showed me his Math exam. He was sad because out of 100 points, he got 92. I couldn’t help but laugh. Because if I got 92, my mother would have fainted. Because when I was a kid, out of 100 points, I would get 36. One time, I got 28. I would show those test papers to Dad. And all he’d say was, “Just do better next time.” Grace means “free gift”.

Here’s my point: You don’t have to please God so that He loves you. He loves you as you are. He accepts you totally.I don’t care what sin you committed. I don’t care how many times you’ve done it. God loves you and will forgive you of your sins. It will be this love that will bring you to repentance and a new life.Because Daddy is grace.

Daddy Is Dulce Dulce means sweet. I believe God is the sweetest Daddy in the world.A few years ago, I was in a preaching tour in the US.This is what Jesus meant when he taught us the “Our Father”.Like Bene, we too can run to God, climb on his lap, and ask for what we need.

Because Daddy is dulce. Daddy Is Fides

I like to believe I’m a good father. This is the Father’s love for you.I don’t know about you, but I must admit that I’m handicapped in many areas

of my life. I’ve got weaknesses I still battle to this day.But in this adventure called life, I’ve experienced my God pushing me, pulling me, and carrying me in his arms.I know God does the same to you.Fides means faith. The root word for faithfulness.God has faith in you. He believes in you.

Daddy is fides.

Dir. Ciso Esperanza answers.

Lenovo gains over Dell as world's second-largest PC maker Apr 11, 2012 06:46 pm | IDG News Service However, it's too early to say if Lenovo will ultimately top HP as the world's largest PC maker Lenovo extended its lead over Dell as the world's second-largest PC maker, but it is too early to say whether the Chinese manufacturer eventually will top Hewlett-Packard to become the top PC vendor, IDC said on Wednesday. Lenovo gained from strong growth in Asia and market expansion across the Americas and Europe, IDC said. Lenovo's PC shipments grew by a whopping 43.7 percent compared with the first quarter of last year, while Dell's shipments fell by 2.1 percent year over year after shipment declines in key markets.

PC shipments have been hurt as people gravitate toward tablets and smartphones. But Intel, whose chips go into a majority of PCs, is trying to strike back with ultrabooks, a new category of thin and light PCs with tablet-like features. The chip maker is hoping that ultrabooks will draw buyers back to PCs.

Armando Magbaleta answers.

A.#1 - All is first time for me. At 1st

it was a reluctant feeling either to continue the journey in attending the AGM of Victo at the Clark Pampanga, because of so many questions in mind plus the problem in looking for the Dress Code to either formal or casual attire or just a plain ordinary wear clothes to wit; and also the added speech to prepare accordingly, that was emailed to me by Mr. Merlin & Mr. Joel nearly a 2 days to go the AGM which gives me more hesitation to attend and I don’t have any choice but to prepare the said speech & unfortunately it was not delivered. May 18, 2012 when I travel to Manila one day ahead of the AGM in order to have time to shop for the attire needed and luckily I got all what I needed to AGM late night already because of getting hard time to look of the TANGERINE motif of the event. But, all is well when everything is ready & reach the place of the AGM Event but with minor problems occur during the registration because of the room assignment in the hotel. We waited almost 2hours & the event is near to each starting point when we got our room assignments. Overall, my experience being the 1

st timer is great & exceptional because of the

added knowledge and understanding how the cooperatives works in the Philippines with much humbleness, spirit & dedicated teams & members of the many successful cooperatives.

A. #2 Cooperative aspects I do like most in the event is the parade of ICA/IYC Colors in which we have the honor to represents our KABAYANIHAN CREDIT COOPERATIVE with pride parading our beautiful banner in the whole venue and hearing the presenter announcing our Kabayanihan Cooperative name as the 1

st Overseas Affiliates of Victo

National. 2nd

is the Conference on CO-OPS and Socio –economic Development impact : Transforming Lives & Communities in which the 3 Cooperatives presenter : EMPSTEMCO, TAYEMCO, PHCCI –Tacloban shares their humble beginning from a single penny to achieved a multi-million even billion cooperatives to date. is the most encouraging, commitment, fulfilling& dedication of

th

is the most awaited Awarding of the New Affiliates where our Kabayanihan Cooperatives awarded & recognized fully by Victo National (see pictures posted @ KCC web page & to FB). Proud to be one!

. #3 I think there’s a huge not only big significant of sending representatives to every AGM, as I’ve said in my # 1 answer for the exceptional added knowledge & understanding how one cooperative humbly succeeds from their single penny to achieved their millions & even billion (i.e. the EPSTEMCO, TAYEMCO, & PHCCI –Tacloban) cooperative in the future with much dedication, commitment, discipline & knowledgeable leaders & members of cooperatives. Best significant also for me is the opportunity that I went to AGM –Victo & I personally commend the board, officers & members of KCC who approved my being part & representative of one cooperative like our Kabayanihan Cooperative the best thing happen & something that I can be proud to all Kabayanihan Credit Cooperative. I encourage everyone in the KCC to consider in your agenda in the future AGM to come. 2013 Victo AGM Venue is announced tentatively to either Boracay or Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

4 4. The oneness, dedication, commitment, & discipline of everyone in the cooperative is the best thing that I could share to you guys, because if we don’t equate this superficial aspects of life within ourselves, our Kabayanihan Cooperative will not succeed in the future. Further, I encourage fellow members of Kabayanihan Cooperative to know our obligations in order to A. # come up with queue of projects that our Board & Officers have already lined up & further encourage you fellow members to contribute your knowledge if any, for the betterment & future of our Kabayanihan Cooperative.

5. A. #5 Kabayanihan Credit Cooperative lets move forward, work, commit, dedicate & unite in order to fulfill our missions, visions & goals. Once again, I salute & commend the Chairman, Member of the Board, Officers, & Members for the trust & confident given to me.

akin.Purihin ang pangalan Niya.
