Holy Rosary Tuition Assistance2018-2019 School Year

The Diocese of Cleveland encourages parishes who do not operate a Catholic School to provide assistance for children whose families are registered at that parish to attend a Catholic elementary school. This program subsidizes an amount sufficient to cover the difference between parishioner and non-parishioner tuition rates at area Catholic grade schools and allows families to remain active parishioners of their home parish. A parish family with children enrolled in Kindergarten through 8th grade at a Catholic elementary school and who is not currently participating in the parish tuition assistance program is invited to contact Father Joe Previte at (216) 421-2995 for details.

Ushers and Greeters are NeededWe invite you to consider volunteering as an usher for the weekend Masses. Responsibilities include arriving early for Mass as scheduled and simply provide a warm and welcoming presence, as well as assist with the offertory collection and distribution of bulletins. If interested, please call Father Joe at (216) 421-2995.

THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST JUNE 3, 2018

My Dear Parish Family:

After much prayer, I have made probably one of the most difficult decisions of my life: I have chosen to step down from my current position as pastoral minister at Holy Rosary. In 2005, after 34 ½ years of working for the South Euclid Police Department, I left co-workers, who became my family, and a career that was dear to my heart, to join the parish staff at Holy Rosary. I was already in formation for pastoral ministry and excited about this new beginning. As I look back there was no way of knowing where the path would take me. Now, as I look forward, there is no way of knowing where the path will continue to lead me. For many years now, we who are involved with the RCIA process, have instructed inquirers that the next step we take is an unknown, and the only way we can move forward is with faith in God’s Spirit who will lead us to where we must go and live according to HIS will. Never imagining thirteen years ago where the Spirit would lead me, I am most grateful for the journey. My life has been enriched by the many people God has placed in my path. I may have been the pastoral minister, but for me, personally, those to whom I ministered: the elderly, dying, struggling and grieving families, the addicted, the homeless who came to the rectory door, and those searching for more – to know Jesus and HIS Church – it is they who reflected the face of God to me.

Today, we celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi – the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus gave us this very special gift of Himself so HE could truly be one with us; to nourish and strengthen us so we can take that next step to LIVE IN HIM and bring HIS light to those who know only darkness.

As the celebrant, in the person of Jesus Himself, calls down the Holy Spirit, we are witnessing the miracle that will ultimately transform our very being if we acknowledge HIS presence with true faith. As you walk in procession, keep your eyes fixed on the altar, and imagine the account of Jesus in the upper room during the Last Supper; HIS crucifixion, death and resurrection. Close yourself to any and all distractions around you and focus on what is happening at this very moment in your life – you are about to stand before Christ and receive HIM with all the love and reverence you can give. If you are Catholic and for some reason are not receiving Holy Communion, or if you are not Catholic and seek to know more, please contact our pastor, Father Joseph Previte. If you are a visitor, we encourage you to find a parish near you, and discuss your situation. Jesus is waiting, and will continue to wait for you.

Although my last day will be at the end of June, please know that Holy Rosary is and will always be my home and my place of worship. With Father Joe’s approval, I will continue to minister to the homebound. My next step is to take some time and be still with God, our Blessed Mother, and the saints in personal prayer. My prayers will forever include all the wonderful people who have entered my life, both past and present, with a special focus on the ministries at Holy Rosary; may the work of many continue to bring new life to Holy Rosary and the Church Universal. For me, well, whatever I am meant to do in the future will once again be God’s choice. Be assured of my prayers for each of you, and with much humility, I ask for yours.

In Christ,Anne De Marco, Pastoral Minister
