CONNECT and ENGAGE: Innovative real Time Data Calculation, Trending and Monitoring

The CONNECT electronic charting system allows for collection of all clinical and patient data during cardiopulmonary bypass cases via the Recorder application. During the surgical case, the Recorder application contains valuable trending and monitoring tools allowing the Perfusionist to view real time patient and case date updated every 10 seconds. The Perfusionist may view data in the forms of graphs or charts according to their preference. Also included is information relative to case times, use of safety devices, warning limits and alarms for the heart lung machine, fl uid balance, cardioplegia, gas fl ow, blood gas, coagulation and perfusion formula calculations. The CONNECT system may also be confi gured to collect data electronically from a variety of patient monitors, blood gas devices, ACT meters, and cerebral oximetry devices. The Perfusionist has the ability to manually enter any of the above data as well as add comments and event entries necessary for complete documentation during the case. After the case, the electronic chart is exported

from the Recorder to the Manager application where the Pefusionist may choose to print the record, export via PDF or excel formats and commit the case to the main database. Once commited to the Manager database, the case may be accessed at anytime for printing or export. Cases in the database may also be selected for statistical and inventory analysis and reports.

CONNECT Manager:

• Maintains valuable Perfusion data and case records at the fi ngertips of the Perfusion group

• Print a patient record or utilize one of the export options to comply with the hospital patient record needs

• Utilize the included statistics module for clinical queries or inventory report needs

2 CONNECT applications

CONNECT Recorder:

• Bid goodbye to outdated charting systems and welcome CONNECT Recorder for an innovative and intuitive electronic record experience

• Electronically importing hundreds of values from the heart lung machine and other devices in the OR improves the frequency and quantity of data documentation

• Quick and easy manual event entry works together with electronic data capture to ensure a complete picture of the Perfusion case

Events

• Data may be collected electronically or manually entered to achieve calculation results

• A graphical view or data table is available and fully customizable according to viewing preferences

• Assign your choice of parameters for tracking and monitoring Perfusion or patient physiological data points during CPB

• Select the minimum and maximum range that meets the Perfusion groups goals for patient care and practice improvement goals

• For assessment and management of your gain/loss goals, quickly reference the graphical trend of volumes given to and removed from the patient

• Refer to the detailed input/output for a closer look at the volume trend

• Choose which events are displayed for monitoring and trending to help focus on practice and patient improvement goals

• Customize event labels and colors to visually highlight event entries and interventions during the case

4 CONNECT the missing links

Electronically link Sorin ATS devices and Connect to integrate all Perfusion data into one case record

• After ATS processing is complete, quickly and effortlessly export all ATS data into the Perfusion patient record

• Ensure integrity of the ATS data and continuity of one reporting system to help meet your reporting and statistical goals

• Instantaneous transmission of detailed disposable product information to effi ciently document data and support data integrity efforts

• Reach new levels on product traceability through the Heartlink card functionality and inventory report capability embedded within the CONNECT Manger statistics program

7

View the patient record for analysis post case or print a paper copy for inclusion with the patient hospital medical record

Export a PDF copy of the perfusion patient record to a local drive and/or a hospital network drive

The included Statistics package allows database searches based on clinical or product focus

6 Statistics - Turning data into information

• Apply query fi lters and print the results for a one time query interest or save the template for recurring query needs

• Export case data of the query results to PDF or CSV fi les for further reporting and analysis needs or wishes

The embedded reporting program includes multiple modes for flexible report handling
