FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK I’d like to thank everyone who attended our Fall Book Fair in September, and those who volunteered to assist with the activities throughout the week. We had a great turnout for our Grandparents Tea and Family Night. A special thank you goes to Ms. McCall, our Media Specialist, for the many hours of preparation and work as well. Thank you to everyone who worked hard to make the first BIT (Berryhill Involvement Team) fundraiser a suc-cess. We thank our volunteers, and other community partners for the great support we continually receive from them! We’d also like to thank those who have already made contributions to assist with our annual Bear Jamboree Fall Festival. This is an event our students and parents always look forward to each year, and we look for-ward to seeing everyone! With the start of the fall season, we hope to see you soon at our Bear Jamboree, Costume Capers, Veteran’s Day Luncheon, Thanksgiving Feast, and a Holiday Concert by our 5th grade Chorus. More information about these events will be forthcoming. Thank you, Roger Golden Principal

VETERAN’S DAY LUNCH The students and staff of Berryhill Elementary School would like to invite veterans and current military to come eat lunch with their child on Wednesday, No-vember 6th, in honor of their service to our coun-try. Lunch for our service members is complimen-tary. Guests of our service members are welcome to attend. You will attend during your student’s lunch pe-riod, where tables will be reserved for you to sit in the Multi-Purpose Room. The cost of a lunch for non-veterans or non-military is $3.25. To help us prepare for this special event, we ask that you RSVP by Friday, October 25th, using the paper
invitation sent home with students. Copies of the invitation will be available upon request through the Ber-ryhill Elementary School front office. Tickets will be sent home for the complimentary meals. We are excited about this event and look forward to having you join us for lunch!
COSTUME CAPERS We will be having our annual Costume Capers Parade beginning at 8:00 am on Thursday, October 24th, on the track behind the school. We will have room for some parking in the rear parking lot, and parents may also park on the bus ramp after 7:25 am, this day only.
THANKSGIVING FEAST Our annual Thanksgiving Feast will be held November 21st. Students and teachers will follow their normal lunch sched-ule. The traditional turkey and dressing will be one of the lunch choices, as well as other delicious items to go along with it. In addition, some students will be dressed for the occasion in out-fits they have made in class. This will be a day of good food and great fun for everyone.
BEAR JAMBOREE Our Bear Jamboree will be held on October 24th, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Lots of fun activities are planned and lots of good food will be available as well. We hope to see everyone there!

SCHOOL ADVISORY
COUNCIL MEETING There will be a School Advisory Council
meeting Tuesday, October 22nd, at 8:30 am,
in the conference room of BHE.
MUSIC NEWS If you’d like to participate in some extra credit Music activities, simply text the code @c3ge7b to the number 81010. I’m using the Remind app for some fun follow up activities. Students who do the activities earn a treasure. Our fifth grade students will attend their annual field trip to the Pen-sacola Symphony Orchestra on Friday, November 1. We are very thankful for the grant that pays for the professional musicians to take the day off from work and play for us. The chorus will perform their Christmas show on Monday, December 9 at 6:00 p.m. Please join us! If your 4th grade student owns a recorder, please have them bring it to Music. If your 5th grade student owns a guitar, they are welcome to bring it to Music. There is a wonderful new website called Little Kids Rock. I highly rec-ommend visiting it for active and engaging music activities for key-board, ukulele, guitar, voice and drums. Really amazing! Littlekidsrock.org Mrs. Shaner
YEARBOOK Don’t miss out on the memories of the year. Order your 2019-2020 yearbook today online, or send orders to Jen-nifer Hoggatt, Room 205. Yearbooks are $35.00 now through October 25th, and will be $40.00 after that date. We are also accepting recognition ads for 5th grade stu-dents through Dec. 18th. You can order and create your child’s ad through the Josten’s website, or ask for a form from your child’s teacher. http://jostensyearbooks.com/?REF=A01253760
NEW TEACHER We are proud to welcome to the BHE staff, Mrs. Vicky
Despaux, Kindergarten teacher. She is filling the position
vacated by Mrs. Jennifer Robey, who just retired after 30
years of service. Mrs. Despaux comes to us with 24 years
of teaching experience at the elementary level, and we
look forward to working with her!
