Climbing High (Mondays at Melaven Gym) – How high can you climb? Learn the skills needed to work your way to the top of the rock climbing wall. $20
Pedal On (Tuesdays at Auto Skills Center) – Put together a bike while learning how to maintain it and be safe while riding. All participants finishing the program will take home a new bike. $20
Can you Find It? (Wednesdays at the Library) – Scavenger hunts are always a great time. What will you find? $20
Crimebuster Academy (Thursdays at LFCAC) – Want to know what it’s like to be a police officer? Come and learn some of the science of finger printing and crime scene investigation. $25
Up, Up and Away (Fridays at Arts and Crafts) – Build, decorate and fly your own kite. $25
Let the Good Times Roll Bowling (Tuesdays at Nugget Lanes) – Spares, strikes and splits. Come out and improve your bowling scores. Fun for all levels. $20

Zap ‘Em (Fridays at LFCAC) – Play laser tag with a different twist each week.
Walk the Walk (Tuesdays and Thursdays at Youth Center) – Walk on the runway using new found modeling skills. Those completing the program will be asked to participate in the Month of the Military Child Fashion Show on Saturday, April 24.
Wednesdays and Fridays for ages 13 to 18: Participate in different fitness activities each month: weight lifting, spin, pool workouts and more. Participants can meet at the Youth Center or Melaven Gym.

Indoor Rock Climbing at Melaven PFC*Wednesdays, March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 | 5 p.m.Participants: Min: 2 | Max: 12Age: 7 and older | Must be 15 or older for belay training | $5 per person.Climbing is a great mental and physical challenge, a great Family fun activity for those cold winter weekends!
Cross Country Skiing Lessons*Date and Time: To schedule, call 361-6349. Participants: Max: 4 Age: 10 & older$25 per person. An introduction to cross country skiing for individuals or the Family with the convenience of a time that works for you! Lessons offered all winter long and equipment is provided. Sessions run between 45 minutes and an hour. If the temperature falls below -10, lessons will be postponed to a warmer date.
Snowmachine Trip*Mar. 13 | 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.Participants: Min: 3 | Max: 10Age: 12 & over.Fee:$115 per person.Join the Outdoor Recreation Center Staff on a snowmachine trip into the Alaskan wilderness. Northern ExposureSaturdays, March 20 & 27 | 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.Participants: Min: 3 | Max: 10Age: 12 & over.Fee: $115 per person.Half day of mushing + Half day of snowmachining = one day of Northern Exposure.Half the participants will be engaged in dog mushing under the supervision of the Northern Sky Lodge Staff. While the other half will make a snowmachine run to the Tanana Flats. The participants will then switch programs for the second half of the day. If the temperature drops below -10 degrees, we will postpone to a warmer day.
Northern Sky Lodge will provide sleds, dog teams, and instructions. Outdoor Recreation will provide transportation, snowmachines, helmets, and leadership for the snowmachine trip. Lunch is provided, but you should bring snacks and drinks for the trail.
