Kit listRucksack 50 - 60 litre with frame (max.). This can be
provided by the schoolSleeping bag, sealed in strong bin liner.Roll mat. Tent. (per sleeping group) This will be provided by the

clothing should be sealed in a plastic bag and ONLY used for emergencies while walking. They can however be used in camp but they MUST not get wet and they must be resealed in the plastic bag while walking.

Kit Costs
• The school has a lot of good kit to lend out.
• It is your responsibility to bring it back in the condition you borrowed it.
• The cost of the expeditions includes a £20 deposit which will be given back on return of the borrowed kit.
• If group kit is not returned ALL of your group will lose their £20

Expedition
• Bronze – 14km 10km, carrying kit, camping and cooking meals for 2 days 1 night.
• Silver – 18km 20km 14 km, carrying kit, camping and cooking meals for 3 days 2 nights.
• All kit goes home to get cleaned and dried, then comes back to school the following DofE meeting.
Route cards and Maps
• You will plan your route on a map and complete a route card of each day of your expedition.
• You will need 2 copies – one for your group and one for your assessor – to be handed to them 1 week before.
Your Focus• Each expedition must have a focus

• Mon 16th July you will give a presentation to the rest of the DofE students to showcase your focus and what you have learned on your expedition.
• If successful in ALL FOUR areas you will receive your award!
• You will receive your welcome pack at the end of the meeting.
• Please ensure you have put your name on the register and given in your group list of 5-7 people
