Target Audience Profile

My target audience for the thriller opening that I will be making with my group is going to be teenagers and also young adults. The reason why I have chosen this specific age group is because according to research, these are the type of audiences that cinemas go to watch the thriller genre movies.

Looking into my target audience in more detail, I realised that there are three types of teenagers and young adults. The first type is the sporty type that are out going and love to do loads of activities, the next type is the quiet reserved type that don’t like being in the spotlight. The final type is the sociable and very confident type. These type of people like to be the centre of attention and love to be entertained.

Sporty/cool/confident/ target audience member

From the picture of one type of our target audience, you could say that the things that we need to incorporate into are thriller opening in order to captivate this type of audience is to

Sporty equipment and items show that he is a sporty person

Casual clothes such as jeans and untucked gives the impression that he is a laid back type of audience member

Slouched body language gives the impression that he is a calm person. Could also say that on the other hand it shows that he might want to be reserved and not sociable

Due to facial structure, you could say that this particular target audience member is between the ages of 15-17

at least have a little bit of action to get him entertained and also to make him want to watch more of the trailer.

Cool/Sporty girl/confident

The things that we will have to do to make the thriller title sequence engaging for this audience member is make at least one aspect of the title sequence relatable to at least one of the characteristics of a sporty cool teen.

Volleyball under. Could say that this is the sport that this target audience member plays

The colour green connotes that she is outgoing and active.

Sporty outfit shows that this particular person is active and is outgoing in general

Park background in the picture shows that she likes to be outside and not being conservative in her house

Slouched body language shows that again she is a very relaxed person and uptight

The things that we have to do so that we do not lose this type of audience member is I think make the thriller title sequence extremely suspenseful.

Uptight body language portrays that they are as people very conservative

Lack of positive or negative facial expression gives the impression that they are quiet shy people

Conservative clothing not revealing any part of their body could show that they have problems with their appearance and also that they have confidence issues.
