To achieve this, Starshine is breaking new

ground in the manufacture of its products. Our

granulates consist of predominantly recycled

glass, which is first color-coated and then sintered

at 700 C in a special, environmentally-friendly

fusion process to create products of exceptional

appearance and excellent workability.

2001 erwarb Rudolf Laschinger die darauf beste-

henden Patentrechte und grndete Starshine.

Der erfolgreiche Unternehmer (Laschinger Aqua

Group und Salmo Leather GmbH) perfektionierte

das Herstellungsverfahren bis hin zur industriellen

Fertigung nach modernsten Standards. Das Ergebnis

sind innovative Produkte, die hchste Ansprche an

Design und Qualitt erfllen und zugleich das traditi-

onelle, knstlerische Glashandwerk widerspiegeln.

Das Unternehmen Starshine versteht sich in dieser

Tradition als Entwicklungs- und Projektcenter. Gemein-

sam mit Partnern entwickelt und vertreibt Starshine

weltweit Produkte auf Basis des patentierten Verfah-

rens der farbigen Ummantelung von Glasgranulat.

Starshine materials have their origins in the Bavarian

Forest region of southern Germany, a heartland of tradi-

tional European glassmaking. It was an artist from this

region who first developed the special manufacturing

process that forms the basis for all Starshine products.

Rudolf Laschinger obtained the rights to the

patented process in the year 2001 and founded

Starshine. Already a successful businessman

(Laschinger Aqua Group and Salmo Leather GmbH),

he refined the process to meet the demands of

modern industrial production, resulting in innovative

products that deliver the highest standards of

design and quality while continuing to reflect the

more artistic aspects of glassmaking tradition.

Within this tradition, Starshine sees its role as a

development and project center. Together with

its partners, Starshine develops products based

on its patented glass granulate coloring pro-

cess and distributes them all over the world.

As a young and innovative company, Starshine

is also breaking new ground in its relationships

with manufacturing and distribution partners,

jointly developing new products with them at its

headquarters in Plattling (Bavaria). Starshine

glassterrazzo flooring, for example, is the result of

a successful partnership with HTC and dynapox.

For the future Starshine plans to expand its inter-

national network with additional production and

distribution sites, which will enable it to supply

individual solutions to customers around the world

even more quickly than at present. Starshine is

already active in many important regions and plays

a key role in design-led project architectures.

partner HTC help produce a floor of unparalleled

gloss and unique depth. Pre-mixed in our plant, the

granulates are shipped ready-to-use and are installed

and polished exclusively by licensed specialists.

Using patented Starshine technology, glass granu-

late is sintered with color pigments at a tempera-

ture of 700 C. The end product is a ready-to-use

colored granulate. Sintering the granulate on its

own or with other carrier materials, such as glass,

allows the manufacture of new products.

Bei der Herstellung der Starshine-Produkte wird auf

eine umweltfreundliche Bilanz geachtet. Ein Groteil

der eingesetzten und verarbeiteten Werkstoffe ist Recy-

clingglas. Zudem werden Energie, Zeit und Produktions-

kosten gespart, da die Verarbeitungstemperaturen des

Glasgranulates deutlich unter den Temperaturen liegen,

die blicherweise fr Schmelzprozesse erforderlich sind.
