WARRENPHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA
‘ART IN MUSIC’ CONTEST! Each year the WPO sponsors a School-wide ‘Art in Music’ Contest. School children are invited to create art about the orchestra’s instruments and its music. Over the last 10 years, hundreds of original and colorful drawings have been created by these young artists and exhibited at area galleries and community centers. The winners of the “2017-2018 Art in Music Contest” will be awarded prizes at our Sunday November 19th, 2017 Family Concert, and their drawings will be on display for all to enjoy.
‘STRINGS OF JOY!’ The Warren Philharmonic Orchestra, with the help of Trumbull 100 and the Cafaro Foundation, is giving free violin lessons to Trumbull County students. Each student, from grades 3-7, is carefully selected through an application process. On our November 19th Fall Concert, the students will appear as soloists in the world premiere of ‘A-MAZE II’, written especially for them by Pulitzer Prize winning composer Yehudi Wyner.

HARMONY!
51 Years and Going Strong
Praised for its “superb performances” and “stellar musicianship,” Warren’s award-winning professional orchestra brings great works vividly to life for its community and thousands of area school children. Concerts explore music from the 17th century through pieces still warm from their creators’ heads—often in surprising juxtapositions.
Internationally acclaimed Music Director/Conductor Susan Davenny Wyner has been called “a galvanizing presence” by the Cleveland Plain Dealer, “a sensitive and thoughtful leader” by the Los Angeles Times, and The Boston Globe wrote, “Under her baton the music breathes, lilts, romps, sighs, and sparkles.”
