Jaeyee Jung a sophomore at Enloe High School, NC, has been studying violinsince age seven with Rebekah Binford, Assistant Concertmaster of NorthCarolina Symphony, ret.. In 2020, she won second place in the Chapel HillPhilharmonia Young Artist Concerto Competition. In 2019, she was the firstplace winner of the NC Bach Festival Young Artists Concerto Competitionand performed with the NC Bach Festival Ensemble.From school ensembles to regional orchestras, Jaeyee has been performing inorchestras for seven years. She is currently the Concertmaster of TriangleYouth Philharmonic. Recently, she was selected as a member of NYO2 2021. Jaeyee is an active chamber musician through the North Carolina ChamberMusic Institute. This year, her piano trio was selected as a semifinalist in theFischoff National Chamber Music Competition. In 2020, her ensemble wonfirst place in the University of South Carolina Chamber Music Competition. Jaeyee is a volunteer performer for Sunday services at First Korean BaptistChurch and virtual choir at the Highland United Methodist Church. Inaddition to violin, she enjoys playing the piano and dancing ballet.

Catherine Yates has studied with North Carolina Symphony AssociatePrincipal cellist Elizabeth Beilman since she was five. She has occupied titlechairs with the Triangle Youth Philharmonic, Enloe High School SymphonyOrchestra, and Duke String School Youth Symphony. She is also an activechamber musician, performing in a piano trio as part of the North CarolinaChamber Music Institute, and in a string quartet with the Duke String School- Ciompi Collaborative string quartet program. She has won first place inconcerto competitions with the Triangle Youth Philharmonic, North CarolinaSymphony, and Duke String School Youth Symphony; her piano trio was asemifinalist in the 2021 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition; andshe has performed in master classes with Gary Hoffman, Zuill Bailey,Caroline Shaw, Mimi Zweig, the Eroica Trio, the Parker Quartet, the VeronaQuartet, the Borromeo Quartet, and the Aizuri Quartet.

Meaghan Clayton (Assistant Conductor, TYSO) grew up in Greensboro, NC andstarted learning cello at a young age with Scott Walker. She played with her highschool orchestra and the Greensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra. Ms. Claytonearned a Bachelor of Music degree with an emphasis in Music Education fromMeredith College and studied cello with Virginia Hudson and violin with DanaFreidli. She served as principal cellist of the Meredith College String Orchestra for4 years, and also performed with the Raleigh Civic Symphony, Raleigh SymphonyOrchestra, and numerous other small ensembles. While an orchestra teacher forWake County Public School System middle and high schools, her groupsconsistently earned high marks. Currently, Ms. Clayton is focusing on teaching a fullprivate studio of string students, arranging music, serving in the music ministry ather church and raising three of her own young musicians!

David Glover (Artistic Director and Conductor, TYP) became the conductor ofTriangle Youth Philharmonic in January 2019. Most recently, Glover was theAssociate Conductor of the North Carolina Symphony. With the North CarolinaSymphony, Glover led numerous high profile concerts including a last minuteperformance of Carmina Burana, stepping in for Music Director Grant Llewellyn,the opening classical concert of the Symphony’s new hall in Wilmington, NC, andtwo state-wide tours. Mr. Glover has worked with many of this generation’s topartists including Stefan Jackiw, Di Wu, Conrad Tao, and Caroline Shaw as well asPops artists such as Time for Three, Pink Martini, and the Indigo Girls. Prior to hisposition with the North Carolina Symphony, Glover served as the AssistantConductor of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and as theArtistic Director ofthe Wabash Valley Youth Symphony in West Lafayette, IN. Also dedicated toeducating the next generation of concert goers, Glover has created a series ofsuccessful school-day education shows which in the past six years has reached over200,000 elementary school children. Glover has guest conducted numerous otherorchestras including the Charlotte Symphony, Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, SouthBend Symphony, Muncie (IN) Symphony, and the North Czech Philharmonic. Inaddition, Glover was awarded the Ansbacher Fellowship to the Salzburg Festivaland was an adjunct professor at Indiana University in 2007, leading the IndianaUniversity All-Campus Orchestra.Glover holds degrees from the University ofGeorgia and Boston University in violin performance, and a master’s degree ininstrumental conducting from Indiana University. He lives in Cary, NC with his wifeEmily, a violinist with the North Carolina Symphony, and their daughter Maia.

Matthew Holt (Conductor, TYSS) currently serves as one of

the Orchestra Directors at Durham School of the Artsalongside co-director Joey Walker. He previously served for

five years as the Director of Orchestras at Pinecrest HighSchool in Southern Pines, North Carolina. In 2015, Mr. Holt

received his Bachelor of Music in music education fromSusquehanna University with a dual focus in baroque cello

and conducting. Mr. Holt has conducted in Pennsylvania,Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina, and Texas.

Collaboration is a central part of his vision in education.Professional musicians he has invited to work with his

students include Associate Conductor Wesley Shultz andAssociate Principal Second Violin David Kilbride of the

North Carolina Symphony, Scott Laird, Jim Waddelow, YangXi, Petia Radneva-Manolova, Lauren Alter, Alice Ju, CaseySpillman, Kevin Giraldi, Rebecca MacLeod, David Michael

Wolff, and many others. In spring of 2020, Mr. Holtreceived the North Carolina Symphony Musician’s Award to

become the Honoree for 2019-2020.

Myriah Luke (Conductor, TYSO) graduated from MeredithCollege in 2017 with a degree in music education,

concentrating in cello which she studied with Virginia EwingHudson. She is the orchestra director at Rolesville High

School and was awarded the Diane Kent-Parker First-YearTeacher award in 2018. She is also the current Staff

Development chair of the WCPSS section of orchestrateachers. She has appeared as guest conductor for the

Triangle Community Orchestra and the Meredith CollegeSinfonietta. During her tenure as a cellist in the

Philharmonic Association from 2009 – 13, she performed inthe Triangle Youth Orchestra, Triangle Youth Symphony,

and Triangle Youth Philharmonic.

Tim Kohring (Conductor, TYO) is always excited to return back to his musicalroots in the Philharmonic Association, having played in TYP and TYS during hisyears at Leesville High School. Mr. Kohring received his Bachelor’s Degree inMusic Performance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill wherehe also studied conducting with Mr. Tonu Kalam and Dr. Michael Votta. He thencompleted a Master’s in Arts in Teaching from the UNC-CH School of Education.Mr. Kohring has been on the faculty of Wakefield Middle, North Garner Middleand Rolesville Middle Schools. In 2019 he became the Band Director at RolesvilleHigh School. He can be seen from time to time playing with various communityensembles as a tuba player. Mr. Kohring is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia,the North Carolina Bandmasters Association, and the North Carolina MusicEducators Association.

Joseph Peters (Conductor, TYS) is currently Associate Principal Oboe andEnglish horn with the North Carolina Symphony and conductor of theTaneycomo Festival Orchestra. He previously held Principal Oboe chairs with theMinnesota Orchestra and Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and has performed asguest principal with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, The Florida Orchestra,and the Quad City Symphony Orchestra. He has performed with diverseensembles throughout the country including the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra,Marlboro Music Festival, Oregon Bach Festival, Lakes Area Music Festival,National Repertory Orchestra and the National Orchestral Institute. For threeyears he was a member of the New World Symphony in Florida. Peters firstappeared with the Minnesota Orchestra at age 18, performing Mozart’s OboeConcerto. As a soloist, he has also appeared with the Detroit SymphonyOrchestra, New World Symphony, Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Saint PaulCivic Symphony, Wayzata Symphony Orchestra, and the Greater Twin CitiesYouth Symphonies, of which he is an alumnus. As a conductor, Peters was MusicDirector of the SUNY Buffalo State Philharmonia Orchestra and the SaybrookCollege Orchestra of Yale. He has conducted Holiday Pops concerts at the NorthCarolina Symphony and is a frequent guest at the New World Symphony, wherehe has led diverse programs including children’s concerts, chamber opera and acollaboration with the Miami City Ballet. He recently conducted a performanceof Henze’s Kammermusik 1958 at Marlboro Music Festival. Peters has been onthe oboe or conducting faculty of institutions including the National YouthOrchestra of the USA, SUNY Buffalo State, SoBe Institute of the Arts, and hasconducted side-by-side concerts for New World Symphony’s MusicLab program.His conducting mentors include Michael Tilson Thomas, James Patrick Miller andToshiyuki Shimada.

Jacob Wenger (Assistant Conductor, TYO) is a nativeof Raleigh and a former Principal cellist in the TriangleYouth Philharmonic. He received an undergraduatedegree from the University of North Carolina School ofthe Arts, and a Masters degree from Manhattan Schoolof Music. Mr. Wenger currently holds positions in theChamber Orchestra of the Triangle, the Tar RiverPhilharmonic, and the North Carolina Theatre pitorchestra. He performs regularly with touring Broadwayproductions at the Durham Performing Arts Center. Mr.Wenger has also performed with the “Requiem forDarfur” Orchestra in Carnegie Hall, an orchestra whichincluded some of the best orchestral and chambermusicians in the United States. He maintains a studio atNorth Raleigh School of Music. He is also on the facultyof UNC-Wilmington, and Ravenscroft School. Mr.Wenger studied privately with Margo Drakos, ZviPlesser, Marcy Rosen, and Jonathan Kramer. He has alsostudied chamber music with Robert Mann, the foundingfirst violinist of the Juilliard String Quartet, as well asSylvia Rosenberg and Jeffrey Cohen.
