Gayon man, i t o ' y h i n d i naging ba lak id sa pag-unlad ng bansa, bagkus nagpatibay pa nga s a pagbubuklod a t pagkakaisa ng mga mamamayan tungo sa pagkakaroon ng isang diwang panlahat .

The w r i t e r of t h i s book was John Bunyan. H e was a
s k i l l f u l t e a c h e r of t h e Word o f God long ago. H e was
impr isoned because o f h i s t e a c h i n g of t h e Word o f God.
Even though h e was i n p r i s o n , h e c o n t i n u e d s t u d y i n g t h e
Word o f God. H e was v e r y sad a t be ing s e p a r a t e d from h i s
f a m i l y , b u t God comfor t ed him th rough h i s f a i t h .
During h i s imprisonment, he c o n t i n u a l l y though t abou t
t h o s e who were g a t h e r i n g t o g e t h e r to worsh ip God, t h o s e
whom h e ' d t a u g h t . H e wanted t h e i r f a i t h to become
s t r o ? g , so h e s a i d , 'It would be good i f I ' l l w r i t e a
l e t t e r to them." When he began to w r i t e , God caused ' him
t o dream a b o u t t h e journey o f a b e l i e v e r to Heaven. So
h e wro te t h i s book, P r j y r i m ' ~ P r o g r e s s , which h a s been
t r a n s l a t e d a s C h r i s t i a n ' s Jou rney -- To Heaven.

Me, I am a believer, and I dreamed about the life of a believer in God. The believer is like one walking on a trail, meeting all kinds of things. In my dream, this is what hasened. ..

And it .was as i f h i s f e e l i n g s were bad because h e seemed to b e c a r r y i n g a v e r y heavy burden. S o he s a i d , "Whatever w i l l I do?!"

He tossed and turned t h i n ing about it a l l , a d he c r i e d .

The next morning, h e a g a i n t o l d h i s wife and c h i l d r e n about t he heavy load he was car ry ing and t h a t t h e i r c i t y would be burned. But they still w u l d n ' t be l i eve him. They j u s t mccked him and laughed a t what he sa id .

But even though they t r e a t e d him t h a t way, he was p a t i e n t . H e was hurt a t what they were doing, but even so, he s t i l l . prayed for them.

And s ince t h i s is how he f e l t day a f t e r day with nothing rel-ieving h i s thoughts, he would j u s t think, wanting to run away, but he d i d n ' t know where to run to. Then one day, t he re came a person named Teacher. H e saw L o s t c ry ing , x, he went and asked him, "Why a r e you crying?" AK1 he s a i d , "It 's because I read t h i s book and it says I ' l l s u r e l y d i e , and i f I d i e , f o r su re I ' l l be judged. And I ' m very a f r a i d to d i e and be judged. For i f I ' m judged, I ' m s u r e t h a t t h i s heavy burden I c a r r y w i l l cause me to be punished and 1'11 per i sh ."
Ad anan M i s t u r u , "Nu s a n a t na problemam, f a s a o m na

Then T e a c h e r s a i d , " W e l l , i f t h a t ' s y o u r problem, read t h i s which is w r i t t e n i n t h e book." So Lost read it, and what h e read s a i d , " F l e e away and l e a v e t h i s p l a c e , so you won't be inc luded i n being punished when God r e v e a l s h i s anger . " And Los t s a i d , " Y e s , b u t where w i l l I run to?"

M i s t u r u , "Sanat na tutun-uchom ad chaumam na n a l i p i t w i
l iwangan. Ad nu michaum-a, mangkobkob-a ad awad na osay - mangisurun s i a t a misilnub w i oyyoom." \
Then Teacher pointed t o a very f a r p l ace and s a i d , "Can you s e e t h a t narrow g a t e there?" Lost s a i d , "No, I can ' t . " So Teacher s a i d , "But can you s e e t h a t l ight? 'n "Yes, a l i t t l e , " s a i d Lost. Then Teacher s a i d , "That is what you must con t inua l ly follow u n t i l you reach the m r r m ga te . And when ycu reach i t , knock and saneone w i l l t e l l ycu what t o do next ."

As he was going, h i s ne ighbors went o u t to see him. Some l a u g h e d a t h im, o t h e r s t r i e d to f r i g h t e n him, and o t h e r s y e l l e d a t him to r e t u r n . B u t t h e r e were two n e i g h b o r s who fol lowed him, one whose name was I-Won't, and t h e o t h e r who was Agreeable. The two r a n +a c a t c h up w i t h I D s t as he l e f t their c i t y of Be- Burned. But now, h i s name w a s n ' t Lost f o r it was C h r i s t i a n .

When t h e y c a u g h t up wi th C h r i s t i a n , he s a i d to them, "Why d i d you f o l l m me?" 'Ihey s a i d , "We f o l l o w e d you to p e r s u a d e you to r e t u r n . " C h r i s t i a n s a i d , " I a b s o l u t e l y w o n ' t r e t u r n , because God w i l l s u r e l y burn o u r c i t y one day. And i f you d o n ' t l e a v e t h e r e too, y o u ' l l also be burned. So c a n e w i t h me and we'll g o to t h a t good c i t y o f Heaven." I-Won't s a i d , "Yes, b u t c a n w e j u s t l e a v e a l l o u r p o s s e s s i o n s ? " C h r i s t i a n s a i d , "What I ' m l o o k i n g f o r is more v a l u a b l e t h a n p o s s e s s i o n s . And i f you p a t i e n t l y f o l l a w m e , f o r s u r e y o u ' l l also s h a r e i n t h o s e t h i n g s . "

Then I -Won' t s a i d , " J u s t e x a c t l y what i s so g w d a b o u t t h a t t h i n g y o u ' r e l o o k i n g f o r 7" C h r i s t i a n s a i d , "What I'm l ook ing f o r i s an i n h e r i t a n c e t h a t can never be d e s t r o y e d and w i l l never go bad, and it won' t change f o r e v e r , f o r t h a t ' s what t h i s book says." I-Won't s a i d , "Be q u i e t a b o u t t h a t book, and tell m e whether you a r e go ing to r e t u r n or n o t , because I a b s o l u t e l y r e f u s e to b e l i e v e what y o u ' r e s a y i n g . " S a i d C h r i s t i a n , " N o m a t t e r how much you c a l l m e , I won ' t r e t u r n . "

Then I-Won't t r i e d ta g e t Agreeable to re tu rn with him. H e s a id , "Never mind t h a t Chr i s t i an ; he j u s t t h i n k h e ' s mart f o r a l l h i s t a l k , but h e ' s r e a l l y showin? h i s s t u p i d i t y . " But Agreeable answered, 'Don't say t h a t , because t h i s C h r i s t i a n is a good man. And maybe what h e ' s saying is t r u e , so I ' l l go with him." So I- Won't s a id ,
'IAre I! ou crazy with h i s crazyness?
How do y m know i it 's t rue , where h e ' s going? COme on, let 's return!"

C h r i s t j a n begged him, s a y i n g , "P lease d o n ' t f o r c e u s t o re turn : j u s t come with me, because what is wr i t t en i n t h i s book r e a l l y is t rue . For t h e one who wrote t h i s , h i s blood was shed proving t h a t what he s a i d was t rue ." But I- Won't, he m u l d n ' t , because t h a t was how he is. However Zqreeable agreed, saying, "Oh, I ' ll come with you, C h r i s t i a n , to where you ' re going. And even i f i t 's hard , I ' l l endure it. And you know the my, so l e t ' s go!" Then C h r i s t i a n s a i d , "I know it from he re t o t h a t narrow g a t e , f o r Teacher taught it t o m e . And when we reach t h e r e someone w i l l t e l l us what to do."

And M) C h r i s t i a n and Agreeable went t o g e t h e r , t a l k i n g a s t h e y went along. C h r i s t i a n s a i d to him, "I am r e a l l y happy that you l i s t e n e d to what was s a i d and you came. I f . o n l y I -Won' t would have unders tood a b o u t the f e a r f u l n e s s o f what w i l l h a p e n one d a y , h e woul .dnl t have 1P returned. ." An Agreeable s a i d , "Here we are, the two o f us. Now tel l me more a b o u t where we're g o i n g , f o r I want to know more."
