As you know I have been working very closely
with the Lynn Hunger Network as we seek to
find both short and long term solu=ons to help
feed those who our pantries and the Lynn City
Mission Pantry was feeding prior to the neces-
sary closing of those pantries. The network is
full of great volunteers and I am so happy that we have been
able to join together to help meet this challenge.
Our first mobile network was held in conjunc=on with the
Greater Boston Food Bank and although there were a few
glitches it was a great success. Many volunteers from St.
Mary, Sacred Heart, St. Mary School and others around the
city helped to make this work. I wish to share with you a le$er
recently received from the network. In addi=on, I ask that you
mark your calendars as the next food bank will be Saturday
December 5th
and many volunteers will be needed.
Thank you and God Bless, Fr. Brian

Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for helping to make the Novem-
ber 7th
Greater Boston Food Bank's (GBFB) Mobile Market in
support of the Lynn Hunger Network (LHN) a huge success.
Because of energe=c volunteer groups like yours, we were
able to quickly distribute 20,000 pounds of nutri=ous produce,
protein and staples to well over 500 Lynn households formerly
served by the St. Mary's/Sacred Heart and Lynn City Mission
Food Pantries.
This GBFB food distribu=on event was a first of its
kind in the city, a coordinated response to an immediate
need. Veteran food pantry volunteers of 25 years worked side
by side with young people volunteering for the first =me. It
was an impressive team effort to assist men, women and chil-
dren without enough food. And it could not have happened
without you.
The next GBFB Mobile Market on behalf of the LHN is
Saturday, December 5th again at St. Mary's and we hope you
can join us. Our thanks to St. Mary's for leRng us use their
parking & chapel once again. Look for a follow up shortly on
the date of our January event.
As the holidays approach, we want to thank you and
your team for making a difference in the lives of thousands of
our neighbors.
Sincerely,
Mary Magner Dennis Maroney

How Am I Working With Jesus To
Restore His Kingdom?
I guess the first ques=on I have to ask myself is, “What does the
Kingdom of Jesus look like?” I see a kingdom of love, for-
giveness, acceptance and peace. How am I working toward
these goals? I once heard someone say that love wasn’t a
choice, it just happens. Well, falling in love may “just happen”
but true love I believe is a choice. We love our children and
spouse even when there might be occasions when we don’t like
them very much. We are called to act with love toward all of
God’s family, even if we don’t know them, let alone like them.
We are called to forgive which can be very difficult at =mes and
to accept others and their opinions even when we disagree. To
achieve peace, we need to do as Pope Paul VI said and that is to
work for jus=ce. When we hear of terrorist a$acks such as last
weekend, we can find it difficult not to hate. When I hear of
incidents such as defacing a mosque, I am sickened. Jesus
taught that only love can overcome hate. As I examine my con-
science this week, I will reread these words I have wri$en and
ask myself if I am as loving, forgiving and accep=ng as I can be
and if I am truly working and praying for jus=ce in this world so
that we might have peace.
