at 6:00pm. You are invited to join the Knights of

Columbus, along with the Daughter of Isabella for

a special devotion prayer service showcasing the

Silver Rose and praying the rosary in honor of Our

Lady of Guadalupe and the Sanctity of Human

Life.

Donations for Auction 2021: You should have

received a mailing last week with a letter and

supporting documents in order to get you ready for

this year’s 27th Annual Parish Auction! However,

there was one form missing from that mailing, (I

apologize), the Donation Form. This form is to be

used if you wish to donate an item or cash donation

towards the auction. A copy of the form as been

included in this week’s bulletin, however it may

also be found at the Parish Office or on the church

website under “Parish Auction”. If you have

questions, please call the Parish Office regarding

any of the forms!!!

St. Mary’s Prayer Chain Ministry. We would like

to reconnect the broken chain of our parish Prayer

Chain. This ministry involves a willingness to pray

for a particular person(s) when called by a prayer

chain member and calling other members on the

prayer chain. If you are interested in being a “link”

on the prayer chain list or to place a prayer intention

on the prayer chain, please call Agneta “Aggie” Kuhn

at 785-639-0641.

Adoration Subs Needed: If you would be available

to sub in for an hour every once in a while on

Thursdays during Adoration hours, please call,

Roberta at 726-4991.

Notes from the Priest Parish Auction Update.

Our auction is four weeks away now! The auction web-

site is created. It is:

charityauction.bid/stmarysauction2021.

For those for whom we have e-mail addresses, we will

send out a link. You will be able to view items, but

keep in mind the order will change as we begin sorting

and placing items in sections (i.e., tables if in-person).

As of Friday, we don’t have a lot of items entered, but

you can view the website. Also, some “help” links still

need to be updated. In other words, although the web-

site is created, there will be some tweaking that is

needed before it is finalized.

The “In-Person” Tickets are ready for purchase. Stop

by the parish office to purchase tickets, call the parish

office to reserve tickets, or send in the ticket form you

received in the mail. Tickets will be available and

given out (or mailed out) as they are purchased.

Bring-in your item, or call and let us know, so we can

keep our system updated. We will be updating and add-

ing items as they come in.

You can purchase raffle tickets on line, send in the

form, stop by the office, or call to purchase. Note that

the Ranger Side-by-side raffle and gun raffles are lim-

ited in number and will be on a first-come basis. If you

purchase raffle tickets on line, the tickets won’t get

counted until they are paid for by a credit card. So, if

you want a ticket ‘in-hand’ call or stop by the office so

we can enter it into the system. The cash raffle has no

limit in the number you can purchase.

An item donation form is included in the bulletin. The

form was inadvertently left out from the letter sent out

to parishioners and donors.

We are still planning to stream the live auction and al-

low online bidding in addition to the normal in-person

bidding by “raising the card.”

FYI. Next Saturday (October 2) I’ll be attending my niece’s

wedding in Wichita. Fr. Rich will be covering the Saturday

night Mass for me. I’ll be back for Sunday Masses.

Respect for Life Month. October is Respect for Life month.

Next Sunday is Respect Life Sunday. This year, the Year of

St. Joseph, the Respect for life motto is “St. Joseph, defender

of life, pray for us!” Check out the bulletin board display in the

back of the church and the Respect for Life material on the

table.

Parish Organizations The SILVER ROSE comes to St. Mary’s Church!

The Knights of Columbus, along with the Daughters of

Isabella and invite you to join us on Monday, Sept. 27

at 6:00pm (following 5:30pm Mass) for a special

devotional prayer service and for the saying of the Most

Holy Rosary in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe and

the Sanctity of Human Life. This year marks the 61st

year of the program which began in 1960 to honor the

Blessed Virgin under her title of Our Lady of

Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americans. All degrees of

the Knights: please plan to attend the Prayer Service.

Wear your polo shirts (if you have one) and

4th Degrees, please wear your full attire.

Life Chain Event: Will you stand for the unborn? National Life Chain Sunday, 2021—On October 3,

across the US and Canada - will provide a visible and

resolute voices for voiceless children who are threat-

ened by the surgical abortionists’ cruel instruments or

by the deadly chemicals in abortive birth controls. The

location for this year’s local Hays event will be along

Vine Street from 26th Street North. The event itself

will start at 2:00pm at St. Joseph Cemetery in Hays.

All will gather at the Memorial to the Unborn for a

brief prayer service, then proceed to Vine Street from

26th Street north for the Life Chain. This event will be

safe, peaceful and legal. You may bring chairs and

strollers. Signs will be provided. Come rain or shine,

all ages are welcome!
