Domingo de Pentecostés
Nuestra celebración de Pentecostés recuerda el inicio de la vida de la Iglesa con el descenso del Espíritu Santo sobre
los Apóstoles - y por medio de su ministerio - sobre todos los discípulos del Señor Resucitado.
Con nuestra celebración de Pentecostés, también marcamos el final del tiempo de Pascua y el regreso del Tiempo Ordinario.
Esta Pascua verdaderamente ha sido un tiempo de gran gozo con la bienvenida a los nuevos miembros de nuestra Iglesia en
la Vigilia Pascual, y los Bautismos de los bebés, la Primera Comunión de niños y la
Confirmación de los niños, jóvenes y adultos.
Con la oración, ayuno y limosna de la Cuaresma, hemos pasado 90 días de preparación para la
celebración de la Resurrección de Jesús y el don de Su Espíritu que nos sostiene a lo largo de otro año de seguir al Señor en nuestras vidas diarias.
En esta gran fiesta de Pentecostés, pido en oración para que podamos seguir permitiendo que los dones y frutos del Espíritu Santo ¡abunden en nuestras vidas!
Pentecost Sunday
Our celebration of Pentecost recalls the beginning of the life of the Church with the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and, through their ministry, upon all the disciples of the Risen Lord.
With our celebration of Pentecost today, we also mark the end of the Easter season and a return to the Ordinary Time of the Year.
This Easter has truly been a time of great joy as we welcomed new members into our Church at the Easter Vigil, and celebrated Baptism with infants, First Communion with older children, and Confirmation with children, teens and adults.
Going back to the prayer, fasting and almsgiving of Lent, we actually have spent 90 days preparing for and celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus and the gift of His Spirit which sustain us throughout another year of following the Lord in our daily lives!
On this great feast of Pentecost, I pray that we may all continue to allow the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit to flourish in our lives!

The materialism of our society lures us to concentrate more on what we want than on what God wants for us. The relativism of our world tells us that we should be tolerant of all things, that there is no absolute truth. Pray to the Holy Spirit to transform our lives and to guide our thoughts, words and actions.

Please join us for our bilingual procession, in which we celebrate this real presence, walking together in faith. The theme this year is Pan del Cielo: Food for the Journey. Arrive at Mount Vernon HS at 11:30am. The procession begins at Noon, and will arrive at church by 1:45pm for 2pm Mass (in Spanish). (Participants who attend another Mass need not attend 2pm.) NOTE: Children who celebrated their First Holy Communion this year are especially invited and may wear their First Communion outfit.

Program Option: Family Faith Formation With today’s busy schedules, many families find it a challenge to enroll in a weekly faith formation class. To address this need, Good Shepherd has a Family Faith Formation session which guides parents in their own faith formation, and in handing their faith down to their children. • Parents meet once per month on a Monday evening to
learn more about our Catholic faith as well as concrete ways to live that faith in your family’s daily life.
• In addition, approximately once a month, families come together as a small group community for special gatherings.

Come celebrate the birthday of the Church by seeing what our young disciples have been up to this year!
