DESCRIPTION

The Physical Education portfolio at ISC has the purpose of recording movement skills developed through the student’s study years at ISC. This portfolio provides teacher, student and parents information about the movement skills development from Early Childhood Education to High School as means to generate evidence of individual growth and performance. Portfolios are also powerful assessment and reflection tools.

Purpose Why we use it

The Physical Education portfolio at ISC has the purpose

of recording movement skills developed through the

student’s study years at ISC. This portfolio provides

teacher, student and parents information about the

movement skills development from Early Childhood

Education to High School as means to generate evidence

of individual growth and performance.

Portfolios are also powerful assessment and reflection

tools.

In a Nutshell How it works

Teachers and students document evidence from the classroom.

● Students are informed of the learning objectives of the unit.

● Students record a pre-assessment video.

● Classes are given for students to practice and record their work.

(Teacher available for help.)

● Using Three Ring students can upload their own work from any mobile device or

computer.

● Media can be tagged by standards, units, assignment type as you add it to Three

Ring.

● Encourage students to compare artifacts and reflect over their work.

● Self-assessment and peer-assessment tool.

● Project-Based Learning, Standards-Based Grading, and other innovative approaches.

EARLY CHILDHOOD AND

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

➔ Teacher set up accounts, tags and

classes.

➔ Teacher records and uploads videos

and pictures.

➔ Students choose when to be

recorded and if the video is good.

➔ Teacher assess students work and

reflection on the video.

SECONDARY SCHOOL

➔ Teacher set up accounts, tags and

classes.

➔ Students have the information for

their videos under tags.

➔ Teacher inform students of the

learning objectives

➔ Students record movies (before and

after unit completion), post and

reflect on them.

➔ Teacher assess students

development throughout 1st and 2nd

video and reflection.
