CHILDREN’S GIFTS
We like to at this time of the
year collect gifts to donate to
children in need.
A box will be held in the Office
for wrapped gifts. If you could
please label whether it is for a ‘boy’ or ‘girl’ or for
both indicating approximately an age.
Please no secondhand gifts. Your generosity would
be very much appreciated.

Dear Parents and Caregivers
Kia Ora
You may be wondering what impact the new Government will have on making changes to the education system and in particular how National Standards will be managed. At this stage we are waiting to hear what the changes will be. I have included a recent statement regarding this issue which explains the Government's current position. “The Ministry of Education is working with the Government on its policy to replace National Standards and Nga Whanaketanga Rumaki Maori with a new system that better acknowledges a child’s progress and focuses more on developing key competencies for all learners. Boards of Trustees, Principals, Teachers and Parents will be kept informed of this change. In the interim, boards should continue to use the range of current tools they now have for reporting on student progress and achievement. Boards are asked to note that the National Administration Guidelines relating to their own planning and reporting processes and their reporting to parents, students and the Ministry of Education on National Standards remain in place until officially changed”
As we know more about the impact of any changes that take place I will keep you informed.
