Principal’s Voice:
Dear Parents and Caregivers I would like to thank all those parents and caregivers who were able to attend our recent parent teacher interviews. It was a great turnout and an excellent opportunity for parents and caregivers to discuss their child’s learning progress. If you were not able to attend, you are welcome to contact your child's teacher and set up a meeting.
I would also like to thank all of those who completed our reporting questionnaire. This is a valuable way to gather your thoughts and feedback on a variety of issues. We are currently analysing this information to see where we can make improvements. I will keep you posted.
I Need Your Help
If children are coming to school by car it is very important that they arrive and depart safely. Before and after school can be a very busy time with lots of congestion with cars and children coming and going. When dropping children off please make sure that you park in a way that allows your child to safely enter or exit the car.
We have a turnaround area directly at the front of our school and it is not a place to drop or pick up children. It is clearly marked with broken yellow lines and usually has a sign to remind about not stopping.
I have observed many parents either stopping in the turning bay or stopping in the no stopping areas in the street to pick up and drop off children.
I would really appreciate your support with
this as it is about getting our children safely to and from school and
Please make this a priority when driving your child/children to and from school.
Many Thanks Nga Mihi Nui Mark Lewington

Cook Island Language Week Kia Orana Last week we celebrated Cook Island language week. The theme this year was: "Kia ngākau parau, kia rangarangatu to tatou reo Māori Kūki ‘Āirani". “Be proud of your language and protect its future”. Each classroom did their own language week activities. Our Pasifika group had a true Cook Island morning tea with delicious Cook Island donuts. Our Cook Island girls learnt to sew tivaevae, a Cook Island fabric art and also learnt a hula. They performed the hula at assembly and were amazing! Meitaki Maata
Matariki 2018 To celebrate Matariki, the Maori Whanau group designed and created beautiful kites for our school hall. The children did an amazing job of using Maori patterns in their design and showed Whanaungatanga and Manaakitanga by working very well together as a group on their masterpieces. Ka pai tamariki!
Kite Day 2018
To celebrate Matariki, all children had an opportunity to make a kite and fly them at our very own Kite Day
at the end of Term 2. The children enjoyed the chance to test out their kites
in the beautiful sunshine.
