FAMILY GOSPEL REFLECTIONNOVEMBER 10, 2019
32nd SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
OPENING PRAYER
Dear Jesus,
Please help us to be enlightened about what happens when people die and eternal life in heaven.
In your name we pray.
Amen.
GOSPEL LEARNING
The Gospel reading today comes from St. Luke. Some Sadducees tested Jesus with a question about what happens after a person dies; their question had to do with marriage. Jesus’ answer suggests that life after death will be different from our life on earth. Just like the Sadducees, we sometimes miss the most important things about what God has planned for us because we get stuck in the details of human existence.
GOSPEL READING: LUKE 20: 27-38
“The Question about the Resurrection”

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke

LIVING THE GOSPEL
1. SITUATION
Take this opportunity to talk about your thoughts, questions, beliefs, maybe even fears, about death and dying.
LIVING THE GOSPEL
2. GOSPEL THEME
As Christians, our hope is grounded in our belief in the resurrection of the dead. This is good news because we know that we will continue to share a relationship with God even after our death.
LIVING THE GOSPEL
3. GOSPEL CHALLENGE
This month of November, pray for family members, relatives, and friends who have died.
TRIVIA: SADDUCEES
The Sadducees like the Pharisees are a group of people who are knowledgeable with the Scripture.
However, the Sadducees believe only in the first five books of the Bible or the Torah. They deny the reality of the resurrection of the dead, the existence of spirits and the power of the oral tradition.Source: Halo Sambuhay for Kids
