Fantastic Fridays at Camp Fridays offer campers extra special activities:

Fridays Out or In (at the Theatre)!

On Fridays, campers will either venture out for a field trip or enjoy a matinee movie on the big screen in our Joyce Mammel Assembly Hall. Movies are selected based on what is appropriate for the general camp population (G or PG), as well as the weekly theme. A complete list of movies will be available at the start of camp season. Each movie is followed by a brief “moral of the movie” discussion and activity.

Friday Family Swim

Bring your swimsuits and towels! The whole family is invited for Camp Kroc Family Swim Time each Friday from 4-7pm!

INFORMATION

Medical Needs Please include all pertinent medical information and/or allergies on the registration form. If your child needs medications administered during the Day Camp, please be aware that The Salvation Army Kroc Center is not authorized to disburse medication and you will need to make other arrangements in order for your child to receive his/her medication(s). Kroc Center staff will not dispense any non-prescription or prescription medications.

Health Requirements Parents are required to provide the name, address and phone number of the family physician for each child. To ensure health and safety, parents are required to submit an updated form prior to each camp season.

Camper Assistance As deemed by The Salvation Army, and as part of our Safe From Harm protocol, we will be unable to assist campers in the changing of their clothes during pool and swim activities. The campers must be able and capable of changing from their clothes into their swim suit and from their swim suit back into their clothes. If this is not possible and a parent/guardian is unavailable to assist, the child will have to observe from the pool deck during the swim portion of the Day Camp pro-gram.

Parent Information Night Take a tour of the Kroc Center and become familiar with the exciting facilities campers will utilize and experience this summer. Come prepared with ques-tions and rest assured your child is embarking on a camp experience that is both fun and safe.

QUESTIONS

What should My Child Wear to Camp? Each camper will receive a free Camp Kroc t-shirt and knapsack during Parent Information Night or, if unable to attend, on the first day the child attends camp. Campers are required to wear their Camp Kroc t-shirt to Day Camp each day. Additional t-shirts are available for $9 each.

Campers are required to wear socks and closed-toe shoes daily.

Campers should wear season-appropriate clothes in which they are ready to play hard and get dirty!

We do not recommend skirts or dresses be worn to camp.

If your child’s camp is scheduled to swim, a swimsuit and towel will also be needed. Sandals are allowed on the pool deck only.

Each Thursday campers are encouraged to wear attire related to the theme of the week for Theme Dress Up Day.

Please label all items and place them in your camper’s Camp Kroc Knapsack (included with camp fees) or in a backpack for your camper(s) to carry.

What Should Not Be Brought to Camp? Please make sure that your camper leaves all electron-ic items (including cell phones), jewelry, toys, card games, money and pets at home.

Who is Watching My Child? The majority of our staff members are recruited from local colleges and universities. Most importantly, our staff is made up of people who love kids. They want to spend their time playing, teaching, and working with children. All Kroc Center Day Camp staff mem-bers have cleared reference checks and a national background check. In addition, all staff members have completed The Salvation Army’s Safe From Harm Training. You can be sure that we are hiring the best of the best to work with your children.

What if My Child Has Special Needs? The Kroc Center is committed to the inclusion of all children in our Day Camp Program, however, the Kroc Center cannot provide specialized 1-on-1 supervision/care for any individual camper. For children with special needs, we ask that each child (and at least one parent) attend an interview with the Camp Director to discuss/determine if we can provide reasonable accommodations to meet the child’s needs and (most importantly) keep them safe while at camp. Please call Gina Ponce, Camp Director, at 402-905-3580 at least two weeks prior to your desired session’s start date to schedule your interview.

What Happens if My Child Gets Sick or Injured? If a camper is too ill or hurt to continue their camp day, parents will be immediately contacted. For minor scrapes and bruises, Day Camp staff will complete a Incident Report form.
