SABM dean Dr. Reynaldo S. Bautista was elected as the president of the Philippine Association of Collegiate Schools of Business (PACSB) for SY 2011-2012. PACSB has 283 member-business schools nationwide.

Grellyn Paoad, BSIT 4, was selected to participate together with 89 other students nationwide in the 6th Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit on August 19-20, 2011 in Cebu City. She is the editor-in-chief of the White&Blue.
Terrence Manaois, BSBA FinMan batch 2011, was the champion in the Absolute Traders Online Stock Market Challenge conducted by the Philippine Stock Exchange from March-May 2011. Also in the photo are SABM dean Dr. Reynaldo Bautista and FinMan dept. head Zenedith Monang.
The U.S. 7th Fleet Orient Express Band conducted music master classes for the various sections of the SLU college and LHS marching bands at the CCA building last July 11 in connection with ‘America in 3D.’ The 10-man professional group of Navy musicians held an electrifying mini-concert later.
Former PBA superstar Alvin Patrimonio, team manager of B-Meg Derby Ace, and Rico Maierhofer, forward of B-Meg, facilitated the five basketball clinics at the SLU covered courts last July 8-9 benefiting about 600 college players, coaches, and children aged 5-13 years old. US ambassador Harry Thomas graced the last clinic together with SLU president Fr. Hechanova.

Prof. Corazon Nera facilitated the 18th Machine Readable Cataloguing Workshop last June 30-July 1 at the Net Library, attended by 26 librarians from the CAR, Region 1 and NCR. She is the director of libraries of the Lyceum of the Philippines Univ. and a PRC Board of Librarians member.
Atty. Marie Joy Payumo, faculty member of the Department of Political and Social Sciences, School of Humanities, is one of the 20 recipients of the Australia Scholarship Awards at the University of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia pursuing a degree in Master of Laws. She is with Dr. Paul Gruba who conducted an intensive training on research.

Louisian Environmental Management and Audit Committee UPDATES
"Humakbang ka" won first place in the environmental songwriting contest conducted by LEMAC and Tinig-Himig in line with SLU’s observance of Environment Month last June. Jonathan Barcelo (faculty member-SNS Chem dept.), RJ Comising (BS Bio 4) and Wilmarc Ross Lagon (BS Bio 2) are the composers.
SLU observed National Disaster Consciousness Month from July 12 to August 5 in the Gonzaga, LHS, Bonifacio and Maryheights campuses. (L-R) VP-academics Dr. Noel de Leon, DENR-CAR regional director Clarence Baguilat, Baguio City administrator Atty. Carlos Canilao and 911 head Dr. Manuel Quirino opened the observance at the Gonzaga campus.
