God of the Journey,

You are our Shepherd and guide.

Pour out Your blessing upon us today as we prepare to work with our young people through Days in the Diocese and Pilgrimage to Sydney.

Help us to follow Jesus’ example of leadership and discipleship as we lead the young people of our communities on a journey of faith, learning, hospitality and unity.

We ask this through Christ Our Lord,

Amen.

• Due to flight availability some pilgrimage groups will begin arriving from Monday 7th July

• Central Registration Open at Australian Catholic University (ACU)

10 days that you won’t forget

Official Program Commences / Overseas Guest Arrival

• Official Days in the Diocese Program commences with being welcomed upon arrival at the Brisbane International Airport. Pilgrims are then transferred from the airport to Central Registration at ACU.

• At ACU pilgrims will have access to a variety of entertainment, communication and relaxation options while they wait for their transfer to their Host Community. A simple meal will also be made available for pilgrims who are at Central Registration for a longer period of time.

ACtS – A Call to Serve

• Local Host Communities have organised a wide range of social service projects for the ACtS dimension of the Days in the Diocese program.

Heart of the City

• Overseas pilgrims will be invited to attend a prayer service in one of the Spiritual Centres in the CBD. They will be joined by local pilgrims as they journey to the Fiesta of Faith taking place at Roma Street Parklands. (Detailed program follows)

9:00-11:00am Prayer Experiences begin in Spiritual Centres11:00-11:30am Pilgrimage arrives / Fiesta of Faith welcomes pilgrims11:30am Entertainment continues on all stages

Meals are provided in Food Court2:30-3:30pm Official Ceremony at Mainstage commences

Liturgical experience and prayer Official acknowledgements

3:30-4:30pm Fiesta of Faith continues ‘Fancy Pants Ball’ hosted by Scat

Farewell & Commissioning

• Local Host Communities have taken responsibility for ‘sending forth’ both their own pilgrims to WYD08 and also those overseas pilgrims who have been our guests during the Days in the Diocese.

5.30am Pilgrimage walk across the Sydney Harbour Bridge to Randwick Racecourse starting at Sydney Harbour Bridge through city to Southern Cross Precinct

7.00pm-9.00pm Evening Vigil with the Pope and sleep out 'under the stars‘ at Randwick Racecourse
